We wasn't sure about this place because it was empty . We tried it anyway and we were so glad we did. Our server was Jade and she was really nice and took great care of us. The country fried chicken was amazing and the Mac and cheese was different but delicious. This is definitely a place to try and we will be back
44 & KING Restaurant MYRTLE BEACH N.C. Delicious meal - Outstanding service I ordered smothered pork chops and veggies Ummm tender, great taste - couldn’t be better! Mya was our waitress-she was wonderful-the manager was also great and accommodating. 10 in our party and zero complaints. HIGHLY RECOMMEND 44. &. KING
We ate here last night while we were waiting on our table our Bartender David made the best Margaritas ever!! If you want a fresh made margarita and excellent customer service go see him!
Great server! child friendly. Really good quality food. Classy but a relaxed atmosphere,Happy hour appetizers at table. Great mussels. Shrimp and sweet potato grits with sweet tea collard greens was one of the best meals I have had! We better than it looks in my poor photograph but I would definitely order that again top-notch steak and salmon salads too. Absolutely fabulous Food nice portions I think server was John he was great.
I do really like this place. My wife and I come here every year. My last visit was less than exceptional. We did come late, an hour before closing time so I get it, but; We just felt like our waitress was a little condescending. I asked for a dessert menu and got what felt like a lecture about why you don’t have dessert menus. The food options didn’t seem to spark our interest this time. We got drinks and a cheese board and left. It was good, we mostly came for drinks anyway, but could have gotten more.
First of all, this is truly a drinking pub. They have a beautiful outdoor patio that is great to sit out under a cool night. They have the usual pub games outdoors too. But our experience was so-so because we went there for a burger. First of all our waiter had no clue about any of the craft beers they sold. (strike one) So I chose what I hoped would be a decent one. Then the menu does have wine on the menu but it is printed so small you can barely see it. Also, the waiter had no clue what type of wine they had on hand so we made him go ask the bartender and bring back a list. So we each ordered a burger. Mine came with a top bun that was actually cold to the touch. Like it had just been unfrozen. I sent it back asking them to toast or grill the bun. Now when it came back. the burger wasn't too bad. It did need a bit more seasoning in the meat, but a little salt and pepper too care of that. Overall, it was OK. I would come back only to have drinks with friends and sit outside in their patio area.
A classy and superb establishment! We were greeted by someone who appeared to be the manager or owner. We came for happy hour but the inside bar was full. The greeter said no worries we can open the side window/garage door type for you to enjoy it and we did! The food and drinks were delicious. We felt undressed since we just rolled in off the beach but no one seemed to care! Greet screened in outdoor patio and cool designed inside. Highly highly recommended and where the locals go!
Make sure you arrive in time to order from the Happy Hour menu because you won't regret it. We had the pork sliders, pound of mussels, wings, sweet potato fries, and mac & cheese for about $40! It was more than enough food, and all of it was delicious. We were seated quickly during a busy time, and the staff was very nice. Nicely decorated and great ambiance. Highly recommended and we would eat there again.
We went on a Saturday late afternoon and ordered beers, ribs and a burger. They had a great beer menu. Every time we ordered a beer our waitress couldn’t bring it to us someone else had to Bring them to us. As for the food it all All was nearly Luke warm like it had been sitting in the back for hours. Will not be going back.
Good food. Decor is a mostly, stark, bar-like. Not cozy, comfortable. Approximately 2/3rds under 21 space. Full bar. Service was great. There were only two of us, but what we had was great. Would definitely go back. The mussels appetizer was absolutely fantastic. Now, I’m from Indiana. The only mussels we get are like eating a rubber band soaked in garlic butter, so I don’t have a ton of experience, but these were the best I have ever had. It was enough for two people if you are going at it heavy. Maybe three or for if each person only want a couple. I had the ham & cheese sandwich. I get this often all over the country. At most places, it is a relatively low quality after thought on the menu: not here. The ham, cheese and bread were all top quality. After trying something approaching 100 all over the US, this one was the best.was best. It does have an unusual Swiss cheese which I loved, but some people may not like. When you got it in your mouth, was not solid, breaking into multiple parts. It dissolved somewhat. Had the consistency of something like a really, really thick mustard or mashed sweet potato, but was 100% Swiss flavor. The fries where the kind I like: mostly soft with a few crunchy one’s, not at all under cooked. They also came with a perfectly balance salt and pepper seasoning already on them. I would have ordered more, but I was stuffed. The second of us had a burger and sweet potato fries. He said the burger was a burger, but on the higher end. He said multiple times the sweet potato fries were really good, and he’s tried more of those than I have sandwiches.
