If your looking for fancy then drive on by, but IF you want great food then STOP ON BY!!!!! GREAT SERVICE, FOOD AND FRIENDLY PEOPLE. We DID NOT Have to wait to be seated and it was a Saturday night Good portions of food came out fast and hot and the taste will make your tongue knock your teeth out to get another bite.... We had the seafood platter and a flounder basket... AWESOME!!!!!!!
A million seafood or bbq places driving up the coast so reviews will be the deal breaker. We chose this one per the reviews and I was satisfied. I got Fish \\u0026 chips \\u0026 cole slaw. The cole slaw had some ingredient that made it different than some I have had, I say that as a good thing. I liked it. I liked that nothing seemed heavy, although fried. Great service too.
We enjoyed our lunch on the large covered deck. I had the grouper poboy which was delicious. One of our group had the crabcake sandwich and another fish tacos. All were good. Especially the skinny french fries.
Hostess was less than enthusiastic upon arrival. Called me twice by the wrong name when calling my table and when I corrected her she said “yeah, whatever”. Waitress also less than enthusiastic. Placed our order and waited a long time for 3 meals. Hush puppies were good, Coconut shrimp seemed partially uncooked. Fried flounder was good, the hand cut fries were the best part of the meal. It was also hot as heck inside. Not conducive to an enjoyable meal on a hot summer night, Won’t be returning.
This is a unique restaurant that has recently added a great deck. The food is always cooked perfectly and the seafood is very fresh. Try the grouper stuffed with a crab cake (it's usually a special). They will grill the seafood if you don't want it fried and it tastes amazing. The atmosphere is perfect. The wait is not usually too bad but can be up to an hour during the middle of the season (although they do take reservations). Russells is not in the middle of Murrells Inlet, which is also a plus, but parking can get tight. Those minor inconveniences are worth it, though.
We stopped here for lunch based upon the reviews. We wished we would have gone somewhere else. I had the combination of scallops and oysters. The oysters needed to be cooked a little longer. The scallops were very salty. The slaw was bland. My husband had a steak sandwich and said it wasn't fresh and didn't have much flavor. The hush puppies with honey butter were good. I recommend finding another place to eat. Several places open for lunch on Saturday.
This restaurant was ok. Some of the service staff seemed less than enthusiastic but luckily our server was more friendly. The shrimp poboy was a bit bland and disappointing and the green beans were not good, unless you like them out of a can, which is what they tasted like. We loved the hush puppies, they were the best part of my lunch.
Went here for some great local seafood. The grilled seafood platter of scallops, shrimp and flounder had alot of flavor and the scallops cut like butter. My husband is gluten free because of celiacs and the waitress was very well informed on what he could have. Perfect meal!!
We discovered this place because it was one of the few places open before 4 p.m. in Murrells Inlet. The restaurant is located across the street from the marsh, but since it is on stilts, the view was still great. The service was welcoming and prompt. The decor is classical nautical with pictures on the walls from local fisherman. The dining hall is fairly small, but the large windows make it feel spacious. The menu was large enough to please everyone. My wife had a cheese burger, I ordered the fried shrimp platter. Before our orders came out, they brought some incredible complimentary hush puppies to the table. They were crunchy and tasted great with the honey butter they brought us. If you are in the area, it is worth stopping by!
Best dinner we’ve had in Murrells Inlet! Fresh grilled grouper just cooked to perfection! Tracy was our server, and was very attentive to our needs. And she makes an awesome must have peanut butter pie!!! We will be back!!
