Music is definitely in the forefront of this location. Considering it wasn't live music, it kinda popped the balloon as far as a quaint, local spot to relax and enjoy food.Unfortunately, shortages made the first time experience a gloomy one, but we pushed through as we understand shortages are evading normalcy.I was told my basket would be full of the food I ordered. It wasn't. The condiments that could have been brought differently took up the room for the food I ordered. So instead, we politely ate, and left. The waitstaff are Awesome! So super nice, and friendly. The water has a taste to it, which is odd for Georgetown County considering they've gotten kudos on the taste of the water. The sushi looked very appetizing, and perhaps, when we're down on that end again, we'll be able to sample some. The location has plenty of parking, but watch out for potholes!Seafood and turf are cooked adequately.
I was sadly disappointed here. It's clear by the name that oysters are their thing. We ordered a dozen, and when they came out we could see that they had been shucked ahead of time (the appearance was just dry and old looking, sticking to the shell around the edges)and FULL of shell, with VERY little brine left. The prices are average, the service was great. We gave it a reluctant 3.
One of the best places to eat on the grand strand I stayed 30 minutes away and drove down to eat here more than 3 times in a week place is awesome
not bad. good service, fish was good, shrimp tacos great, diet soda tasted weird, cosmo was not great. would go back
I've been going to On the Half Shell for a number of years now. Another terrific beach town dining place. Very relaxed. The food is always terrific. Some of the best seafood around. And because it's not on the Marsh Walk, the prices are much more reasonable! A great place for lunch and the Happy Hour menu is great too.
Felt like the plate was a bit on the small side. Bar environment, not my favorite atmosphere, but overall nice, staff was polite. The blackened fish was fair. Wife's shrimp tacos were delicious.
This place came up as a restaurant on my Google search but it definitely has more of a bar feeling and appearance when we walked in but totally had restaurant service. Everyone was so friendly and cool but casual and seemed fun. The food was pretty good and the prices are decent. I had the fish tacos, they were ok but I wish I’d ordered the fish fried instead of grilled because they do come on a flour tortilla so it could have used some crunchy texture. Other than that, it was really good. My husband had the fried fish plate with fries and cole slaw, which he said was really good, and my daughter had the quesadilla and it must have been good because she scarfed it down in about 6 minutes flat and she’s pretty picky. I also had the spicy margarita made with jalapeño tequila and if you like spicy stuff I recommend trying it out. For a satisfying lunch and/or cocktail that doesn’t break the bank, this is a great spot. It’s totally casual and unpretentious with good friendly service and good food!
Tommy, or waiter was fantastic he gave us great recommendations on what to have for lunch. My wife had the grilled fish sandwich and I had the grilled fish tacos. The tacos were fantastic and had a sweet mango salsa dressing. I love the dressing so much I asked Tommy for a side of the dressing and I dip my fries in it. Angela's grilled fish sandwich was big and she loved it, with a great tasting tartar sauce. The restaurant is also part of a sports bar and would be a fantastic place to watch any sports game and have some beer and good food while you're watching the games I would recommend any of the menu items they all seem very tasty and are reasonably priced
Wonderful staff. fantastic food. great happy hour 4-7
Overcooked fried food (burnt). Not fresh and very greasy. I could not wait to get home and change my clothes from smelling like old grease. Will not go back! Plenty of better places to eat in Murrells Inlet. Very disappointing. I expected better than what was served.
