Nate was our sever this morning and I want say that he is a kind a d respectful individual. He treated my husband and my family with respect and courtesy. This type of server is rare and greatly appreciated. It sets the mood for starting your morning off right. Thank you so much for that Nate. The food was prepared well, presentation was attractive and delicious. I love the Mason jars and cups, a little touch of southern style. The ladies at the hostess desk, nice welcoming, conversational and thank-you for the recommendation for sea shell Island, we will check that out on our next trip down. Have a blessed day everyone.
The theme of this restaurant is a lumberjack lodge. Our service was friendly and attentive to our needs; she filled our drinks before they were empty and kept us happy! The food was good. It wasn’t over the top wonderful but very good.If you want pancakes, this is a great place to go!
We come to this restaurant quite often, the food is always great and all of the servers are nice and courteous.I would however like to especially brag on the manager, David. He has always been great to us but more specifically he is absolutely fantastic with our kids. We all thoroughly enjoy coming here and every time we tell the kids where we are going they always get excited and can’t wait to see “their friend that gives them the pretty rocks”Thank you for the great hospitality!
We come to Flapjacks every year on our way out from spring break. Ashley was our waitress today and she was wonderful, especially with our large party (14 head of us). We didn't have a single mistake with our order, everything came out in a timely manner, and it was delicious. There are plenty of pancake houses around but this is our favorite.
What an awesome place to grab a bite... The host was on the top of his game this day and did an excellent job making me feel like my money and time were important. Other than the restaurant being a little chilly, it was decked out pretty good and even had some trinkets to keep you busy while you waited. Once at we were promptly attended to by our waitress. She was very quick to get the order and did a great job making sure we got everything that we needed. It wasn't until the end of our visit that we had an issue finding her but to be 90% in the good is still better than most this day. Will definitely visit again next time we are in Surfside Beach!
We tried this place because it was a new experience and it will be a one and done for us. The server was adequate but not friendly and forgot utensils and a couple other things, the food was just average at best (not much taste to be honest) and the prices were way too high. Also some of the items you have to order a la carte were just strange. I've never been to a pancake house on the Strand that didn't offer toast as part of the meal. There are better places to go for breakfast.
Previous diners have had similar experience to ours. From the outside the cabin look is appealing but looks, as said, can be deceiving. Up and down the strip, from North Myrtle Beach to Pawleys Island, there is an abundance of breakfast restaurants. They have extensive menus which Flapjacks doesn't. We both ended up with flapjacks, assuming they must be pretty special since that's the name of the place. The serving was big in that they (3 flapjacks) were thick and heavy. As another person mentioned, when we were served we had to flag the waiter down for syrup! The coffee was dismal and service was also. We had arrived at a slow time, the place not at all busy. My first impression was that the staff had no idea of customer service. The hostess was tuned out and, as mentioned, our waiter, same thing. If I had this to do over I would have asked for a menu before going to the table. Next, I'd have headed for the door. There's nothing that would bring me back here. I generously give it a "2" because it appeared to be clean. .
The restaurant had a nice homey feel. Our waitress Chastity was great. The food was not the best. There was no real flavor and the temperature was as if it had been sitting out for a while before we got it. It about 30 minutes for us to get our food and about 10 minutes before we actually got a server over.
Ok let's see how I can describe this experience... when we first got there we were seated really quick which was a good thing, however it took about 15 minutes before someone came to our table just to ask us what we were having to drink. Our server was really nice but not very attentive so we went without refills for a good minute, I was really craving the grits and when they arrived they were lumpy and not hot. I asked for cheese grits and they placed a piece of sandwich cheese on top and it didn't melt at all even when I tried mixing the cheese with the grits it wouldn't melt. The skillet meal wasn't hot either so this wasn't a good experience. I wouldn't recommend or come back here again.
Off season (January) beautiful place and great staff. Chris was our waiter and he was wonderful. Food was good.
