Took my daughter and her friends on vacation Vickery’s was the 1st place we dined in South Carolina. We all loved it! They were understaffed, but you can’t give stars off for that. I mean what place isn’t now a days. The food was delicious! Especially The Crispy Vegetable Spring Rolls appetizer with the house made Thia sauce. It was so good I wanted to order another one. The sauce is a little spicy, but that is what makes the appetizer come together perfectly. I had the grilled blackened mahi for dinner with the red rice and green beans, I really enjoyed it. We sat outside on the deck, and the view was absolutely breath taking.
The view is spectacular. The staff was friendly but a bit overwhelmed due to being short staffed (the posted a sign to this effect, limiting groups to 9 or fewer). The food was a mixture of great, good and so-so.On busy nights, plan on parking at the paid lot just down the road from the restaurant (parking lot entrance is on the right side when heading toward the restaurant). The parking fee is high, but Vickery's will completely validate via text and a website, so not a big issue if you don't mind a 3-5 minute walk. They had a live band (good cover band) when we arrived, which helped pass the time while we waited for our table.Overall a 3.5 to 4 rating, and can easily bump up to 4-5 with some staff to help and an increase in food quality.
Very disappointed. Have been going there for years. Great location on the water. I always get the same thing, Turkey Pita. The Pita was not soft in the least…in fact, it was hard as a rock. The lettuce was “old”. Ended up eating only the slices of turkey and the fries. Speaking only for myself. However two of my friends thought their seafood tasted “funny”. Extremely disappointed.
Nice spot on the water. Views were beautiful. We were seated promptly and waited on immediately. We sat outside but there is inside seating as well and an outside bar with music. Quite fun for us tourists. Food was plentiful and good. We both had fried seafood platters. Lots of large scallops, very tender. Shrimp was large and flounder was good. Coleslaw was good as were French fries. Hope we get to stop by again. PS. Got there at 6:30 during happy hour and our wine was $3.50
Good bar and grill. The food was very good. I had the shrimp and oyster platter and my wife had the oyster bisck. Large portions. Staff was very friendly. It's a good place to watch a sunset and have a drink.
Had a few drinks and listened to live music while we watched the sun set on the marsh. Laid-back vibe and good appetizers.
Food was good, view was better. This was our first time here so we tried a few dishes. Lowcoutry Saute was warm at best when it came out. Hush puppies were a bit heavy, bourbon shrimp was very good. Breanna was our server, and she provided very good service.
This place was busy and they were further set back by a "Karen". Staff however was handling the situation the best they could. We got great food in a reasonable amount of time. Great location.
Fantastic lunch at Vickery's! Our server Bree (unsure on spelling) was so helpful and friendly! We needed to head out in an hour for the airport and she hustled! We had our food within 12 minutes. Wow. Had a beautiful lunch out on the back patio where we watched pelicans and dolphins playing in the water.Had brie and turkey on a pita and it was a delicious sandwich! Did not enjoy the french fries at all, but everything else about the lunch was excellent. Would definitely recommend to a friend!
Perfect place for a Saturday afternoon on Shem Creek. I'm not able to paddle board and don't have a boat but Vickerys is the best spot to enjoy a meal or just appetizers and drinks while enjoying the Creek and Marsh views plus dolphins, cranes, seagulls, and Pelicans. Our appetizers were delicious! Calamari, Bourbon-Garlic Shrimp and hot Artichoke dip with Pita bread. Get there before 6pm to beat the crowd!
