Terrible terrible TERRIBLEEEEE If I could rate this no stars I would, terrible service!!!!I had to wait for 45minutes to get a refill on my drink, found a hair in food. Manger tried to justify the fact there was hair in my food. When I’m blonde and the hair was black like my waitress. Tries to blame it on me!! Shrimp was also over cooked and chewy and the food was wayyyy to oily!!! I do not recommend going here what so ever!!

My family and I have eaten at Tsunamis for more than 6 years now. We believe they are owned by new owners because the food wasn't as good as it used to be. My family and I are very well versed in the japanese/Chinese cuisine and I could tell the tuna in the tuna tartar was frozen and not fresh. The calamari was horrible and for 4 people you only get a few pieces for one order. The wait staff are so nice and we felt bad they had to serve us that food because it's not their fault that the food was barely subpar. It's sad to say, but we will not return after our previous experience considering we've been long term loyal customers. I also want to mention that there might only be 2 servers running the whole restaurant so go early if you decide to go. It's sad to see how tsunami has taken a turn for the worst. We're afraid they're only going to rely on tourism and the loyal customers will no longer go. Truly a disappointment.

For years I have loved this place but it has definitely gone downhill, and after last night's experience, I can't say that I will be returning. The sushi was decent, and that's why I gave two stars but the fried rice was terrible. I ordered shrimp fried rice and I got some thing that looked like it was from a fast food Chinese restaurant. They have definitely changed whatever they're using because they did not used to have yellow rice, and they used to put fresh vegetables in with it, as opposed to the frozen peas and carrots I got last night. And a little bit of shrimp that I got on top were overcooked, shriveled and rubbery. It was just bland and terrible with absolutely no flavor, not at all what it used to be. And not to throw shade or anything but the redecorating in there looks awful. None of it makes any sense and it just looks like a mess, doesn't have the ambience that it used to. So sad to leave a negative review because this was one of my favorite places to eat, but I can no longer say that. Hopefully someone with the power to make some changes and bring this place back to what it used to be will read this.

I had a really great experience here. My friend and I shared some edamame which was covered in sea salt and delicious. Then I had the eel and dynamite roll - both were awesome! The wasabi was really HOT. Use it sparingly. I enjoyed my Riesling and our server did a nice job checking in on us, without overdoing it. He even brought us a free fried cheesecake after learning it was my birthday. How cool! Also, he had no problems splitting the check for us. I'd be happy to sit in his section in the future and plan to come back.

Went for dinner and ordered the grilled chicken fried rice. Half way through my meal I pulled a piece of aluminum wire from my mouth out of the bite I had just taken. Simply let the waitress know, she apologized. Next thing, the manager shows up asking which bowl it came from. He asked if we wanted another bowl but we declined and again said that we just wanted to let them know. He then proceeds to basically act like I planted the aluminum in my bowl since I had eaten most of it. We explained that after finding the foreign object we moved the rest of the chicken to my husband’s bowl. He then says he can take a little off the bill but since I had already eaten most of it that was all he could do. We again declined that offer. My husband and I were completely baffled, all we wanted to do was let them know and instead ended up being accused of trying to get a free meal….will not be returning.

Good sushi at great prices. Conveniently located and the atmosphere is very quaint and cozy.

Great happy hour specials! Delicious food!

We went here for two main reasons. 1. Close to the Hampton Inn where we were staying. 2. Good things we had heard about the location of the Columbia, SC restaurant in the Vista area. We arrived between 5 and 5:30 on a Saturday evening. We were immediately seated. Was not packed and there were plenty of seating available. They appeared to be staffed appropriately. Waitress was nice and followed up from time to time. However, service overall was slow but not enough that we started discussing it. Menu has a lot to offer. Wife and I both decided to get hibachi dishes. Had had raw oysters the night before and were not in the mood for sushi. We ordered the calamari appetizer and agreed it was the best we had had. Tender, not rubbery. Sign of good things to come. As we waited for our dinners I noticed some tables that had been seated after us were getting food before us. Red flag goes up! Our dinners arrive, both looked good. Wife's was warm, mine was luke-warm to cold. My thinking is while others who arrived after us were being served our food was out getting cold. Flavor wise food was good. Wife had steak and schrimp and had asked for steak to be cooked medium, it was overcooked but not to the point of complaining. We did not complain about the temps of the food as it was edible. We had spent the whole day walking around Charleston and just wanted a decent meal and to get back to our hotel. I would be hesitant at this point to visit ANY Tsunami.

They gave generous portion of food, from appetizers to main entrees. Too bad that they were cleaning the restaurant when we were still eating as their last guests. My husband couldn’t stand the smell of cleaners, so we had to leave.

The food, and let's face it, that's why we are all here anyway -is excellent, authentic and serves are quite generous.
