Outstanding brunch on a Sunday morning in June! It’s a local secret. Had a 2022 version of corned beef hash with perfectly poached eggs.
We used to regularly have lunch at Mustard Seed, but most recent trip with friends was not so good. I ordered salmon on a salad and got a very greasy, burned small piece of salmon on an uninspired salad. None of my dining companions were happy with their food. Kind of “meh” all around. It was definitely better pre-CoVid.
We try to eat here whenever in the area and are not disappointed. Their salads are exceptional, especially when add grilled chicken. The choices available are varied and specials make it hard to decide what to eat. It’s fresh, tasty and innovative. The staff is very pleasant and go the extra mile to make your visit a positive one by checking on how you are enjoying the meal. Certainly you should plan on a visit.
This is a must stop!!!! We stumbled across this restaurant when we were taking a break from USS Yorktown. I can not stress enough how well kept this restaurant is. You can tell the owner loves what she is doing and this is her passion. I haven’t been to a restaurant this good since before Covid hit. My husband got the veggie burger and my boys got the regular burger. Both had raving reviews. Me- well- I tried the salmon BLT WITH FRIED GREEN TOMATOES. Yep- there’s no way that goes together, right. WRONG- it was amazing! Do yourself a favor and look up this restaurant if you are in the area- you won’t be disappointed!!!
I stumbled across this outwardly unassuming restaurant on my first real trip to Charleston. I had spent several days sampling the most recommended, as well as expensive, places and was underwhelmed. The Mustard Seed pleasantly blew me away. Perfect portions, delicious flavors, wonderfully cooked. From the crusty soft homemade bread with quality, delectable olive oil to the perfectly crisped salmon and brussels sprouts with creamy whipped potatoes, it was perfect. Service was exceptionally friendly and prompt, too. I'll definitely enjoy at least one meal here on any and every future visit.
Beware. Keep driving. We could not be seated at our favorite meal stop in Mount pleasant so we gave this place a try. The restaurant was not busy so we thought we could get a nice bite to eat and back on our way. We were wrong. The meal took 45 minutes to prepare and was not to the liking of anyone in my party. Burnt fries, and other tasteless dinner type food with inflated prices. Other guests seen that it was not that good and walked out. The worst part of the experience was paying for the meal. The wait staff mixed up the bills and management treated us badly. I would not take the time out of my day to write this unless I was truly unhappy. The experience was so bad a public announcement is here needed.
Afrer a long week I wanted to bring home some take out for dinner. I called Mustard Seed (you can also order on-line) and they said my order would be ready in 15 minutes which it was. I love their spaghettini which I ordered with extra shrimp. The portions are large and the home cooking is always appreciated. The order was ready when I arrived. They will deliver to your car or you can wait at their bar. Very easy and the food was delicious. Always consistent. Priced well. Definitely worth a visit.

Don’t eat here as much as we used to, which at one time was at least once a week. Seems like the bread isn’t as soft as it once was and all the prices have been raised multiple times. Doesn’t seem to have the same flavors/zing it used to, particularly the Spaghettini and Pad Thai. hoping it will improve (and have lower prices again) in the future because I really enjoyed it.
I was excited to try Mustard Seed but unfortunately the staff and undercooked chicken ruined the experience. I ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. When the dish came out there were a few pieces of raw chicken. I notified a server and she did not apologize but took the undercooked chicken back to the kitchen. A few minutes later they brought back the same chicken that was cooked through. I would expect that they would have given me a new salad considering there was raw chicken touching my salad but they did not. When the bill came around they were hesitant to take off the cost of the chicken. The staff was rude and unapologetic. Will not be returning and recommend going elsewhere.
