I've been coming to Sushi Taro for the sushi lunch for over 5 years and still love it. They were very safe during covid (wearing masks, outdoor dining only, ordering through a plastic divider). 3 rolls + soup and salad for $12...can't beat that! My bf got a bento box and loved their spicy sauce. Lots of food for the price and value! Great quality! If I still lived in SC, I'd continue to dine here several times a month. Recommend to others!
[Take-out review]Overall: Another solid option for sushi in the area!The good: Friendly staff greeted me upon arrival for my takeout. It looks like a smaller restaurant on the inside, so keep that in mind if you're dining in (that said, it looked nice!). Lots of rolls to choose from, not to mention many other non-sushi items. We got the Makimoto, Lotus Flower, Charleston, and Crazy Tuna rolls. The Makimoto had heaps of crispy onion on top, which isn't typical but we loved it. The Charleston roll was our favorite - hard to beat shrimp tempura and multiple types of tuna in one roll. Everything was fresh and kept well for leftovers the next day.The not-so-good: Prices seem a little higher than some of the other competition in the area (the rolls we got were $16-19). Also, the scallops didn't meet my expectations, and there wasn't enough wasabi between all of the rolls. The Lotus Flower was an interesting idea that didn't quite land for us (pear and cream cheese inside)
I am no stranger to sushi, I eat it often…more often than most! A friend and I decided to go “all in” and split a sushi boat. I would rate this based on 3 factors taste, quality, and portions. This place knocks all 3 out of the park. The sushi came out looking “almost” too beautiful to eat. The fish and ingredients were very fresh and delicious, and the portion was enormous. We are 2 fat guys and we ate like we were starving, still had to take some home in a box. This sushi is HUGE, like enormous! The only down side is this restaurant is 45 mins from my house and ruined my desire to go get sushi elsewhere! I will absolutely be a repeat customer, very fast service, delicious food, cold drinks! If your looking for sushi look no further!
The food/drink and the service was absolutely emuclulate. Couldn't ask for better. We also got a free desert and a new year calendar to take home. You have to try this out.
Went here for the first time and got the sushi boat for a birthday dinner. Great sushi and great experience. We were even given ice cream and a brownie to share (on the house).
Favorite restaurant in Mt. Pleasant by far! So many delicious options, wonderful staff, and they seem to always be open! They sometimes offer free dessert when you eat in! I’ve been going here for years and never have had any complaints.
We had the best quick dinner on a Sunday night. Amazing service and excellent food plus a complimentary dessert!! I got the angry dragon roll and my husband got the chicken hibachi. We were sat immediately and everything was perfect.

We did not know what to expect when we entered this small place tucked away in a shopping center. I ordered the Yummy Yummy and the Tuna Amazing and my wife had the Lady Lobster and Yummy Yummy rolls. They were awesome. The staff is on top of it and it is a pleasure seeing them non-stop tending to their customers. We have been back 4 times since August and we love the food and service here. My wife and I tend to seek sushi places during our travels and this is in the top 3 of the 30+ places we have been!
