I had a wonderful dinner with my girls and boyfriend here saturday night food was amazing. The market fish dish was 10/10 and the service was perfect! Our server was so nice and gave us places to visit as we were on vacation. The restaurant was very nice and clean, and it was calm and very professional. 100% recommend going here for a nice dinner.

We had a fabulous dining experience at Opal last night located at Seaside Farms in Mt Pleasant. Upon arrival we were quickly seated at a wonderful booth and server Leigh Ann immediately introduced herself. We enjoyed the local neighborhood casual and low volume vibe. This is truly a place to relax and enjoy a good meal with good friends. Our Martinis arrived perfectly crafted and our first course of chopped romaine salad and spicey local shrimp bruschetta was perfectly perpared and delicious. The complimentary bread service with olive oil was superb. The pièce de resistance was the very large exquisitely plated charcuterie with gourmet cheeses and meats we all shared as our main course well paired with Pinot Noir. For dessert we had a lemon creme brulee and wonderful cappuccinos. Thank you Chef de Cuisine Ryan Camp and owner/chef Patrick Owens for giving us a wonderful dining experience at Opal.

Food, service and wine choices all wonderful. Filled with locals both in the bar and the restaurant.

I’ve been here 3x so far. The first 2x, amazing service and amazing food. This most recent time, we came for happy hour at 5. Our hostess was very sweet and sat us at the dining room. A server came to our table, didn’t introduce herself or say hello, and started filling waters. I found this a little strange, she said not a single word. I assumed maybe she’s shy. I asked about the happy hour menu, and she informs me and my guests that Opal only does happy hour at the bar. This is our mistake as we didn’t know this, so we ask to move to the bar and we do. We take our menus and water because we’ve already used them, but I here the server whisper to another employee in a very negative tone “they’re taking their things” as if it’s wrong for us to take the menus and water. Seriously? At the bar, the bartender asks us in a snappy tone, “where did you come from where you had waters and menus already?” I wish this tone could’ve been interpreted as a joke, but it wasn’t. We tell her we came from the dining room because we’d like to order from the happy hour menu. I even asked my friends if I’m crazy for thinking the service is off tonight, but they agree that everyone’s tone has been rude.I ask the bartender about what oysters do they have tonight. She tells me 2 names, no description of each. I then have to ask if she can describe the oysters, is one brinier/sweetener, bigger/smaller, etc. She tells me “X oyster is brinier and tends to be bigger, but from what I just saw they seem to be running smaller than I expected.” I then say, “oh so do you think the other oyster type is better?”She snaps at me, full on very harsh as if I had insulted her, “I didn’t say one is better at all just that one is brinier.”Look Opal. I love your food and everything was delicious as always. But if staff is rude, makes customers feel like they can’t ask questions, this is not a place I want to bring friends. I raved about this place, and I was EMBARRASSED to have brought them. And they asked me if service is usually like this, and I said no. Service is typically great. We were so disappointed by the service that we got fewer entrees than normal so we could go somewhere else after and finish our meal.

We can’t rave highly enough..Opal is our go-to restaurant wether it be a casual date night at the bar, or we are hosting guests from out of town..Why make the trek downtown when you can experience the highest quality service and cuisine right here, in Mount Pleasant!? Thank you Opal, for your utmost quality and consistency! We will be back, over & over again!

We have been to opal many many times and we always have a fantastic experience. Their charcuterie is second to none and they have such a great wine selection. The steak tartare is always amazing as is dessert. We will be back over and over and over again. Don't change a thing!

Great wine selections, and very delicious food. The bruschetta was excellent but I wish it was on 2 pieces of bread as it was overflowing. Thank goodness they serve bread with the meal.I will be back for sure.

Amazing food and wonderful service. Noelle was our server, she is so nice and knowledgeable of the menu. We went with all her recommendations and we LOVED every single one. Perfect place. Great restaurant group.

I may be a little biased because I have worked here, but the hard working staff is very friendly, the kitchen and dining area is always extremely clean & organized & the Chef has been there for over 10 years and takes pride in every dish he makes. Everything I've had the privilege of tasting, was delicious! I'd recommend this place to any of my friends or family, here, or visiting Charleston, SC.

Jennifer at the bar was amazing. We enjoyed happy hour! Dinner was so good! This is a must try! You will love. Get there early for happy hour and make a reservation early. It is a small place and fills up quickly! Wood and Grain was equally as good. The hostess Julia and host Butch were so friendly. I cant remember out waitress at Opal but we loved her! The food is amazing!
