The food was awesome. Chicken and steak tacos were great but the beef tacos were incredible. Guac was really good, too!
Actually it was very good, and the sweetetest bartenders, service was quick and I could of had 4 more of the tacos,,they were so good great place for friends and kids to have fun in the arcade,I will return
Outdoor sitting is nice. Food not so much. Please don't call your sandwiches "tortas", it's nothing like a torta, respect the true torta. But really do you even know what a torta is?? For starters your bread is way wrong. A torta must be either in a "telera" or a "bolillo" anything else, you can't call it a torta. Also, the basics are refried beans, mayo, avocado, lettuce & tomato. Then add whatever else you want. There here is your free Torta101, you are welcome.
Good food! The menu was smaller than we expected. The atmosphere was fun. Not fancy at all. The service was good!
The food and drink were excellent and outdoor dining atmosphere superb. Best of all were the wonderful staff whose stellar service was so far above and beyond!

Expensive and honestly not worth the price for Charleston. There are so many other places, let alone Tex mex places that are better than mex 1.Just like Sullivan's this location has mediocre food along with margaritas that have maybe 1 shot of tequila in them. Even that would be sufferable if the service was good but it seems like every mex 1 location has 16 year olds serving and hosting who could care less about their job.

One of the few places we go to in these uncertain times where the service and the food is always exceptional. We go here as often as once a week for long stretches of time and have never been disappointed. Dined last night on a very busy Thursday where they were almost at capacity and had service in what seemed like 90 seconds and hot entrees in what seemed like ten minutes. The food is outstanding, interesting, and fresh tasting, with particularly flavorful sauces. Margaritas are great as well. Service is always attentive and responsive.
My husband and I have loved this place since it opened. It’s close by and always a solid choice. The food is great and the drinks are spectacular. We even celebrated a couple anniversaries and other important events here. The reason I’m giving 4 stars vs 5 stars is for the staff turnover. I’m fully understanding that staffing is difficult, especially now. That being said, Jessica is a gem of a human and I’m sad to see her go like many of the others who have been the reason we’ve kept going back (Lee, Kira, Cody, Brian, etc.). Keep Michelle at all costs - she’s the only one we know anymore. We’ve seen a downturn in regulars and I’m 100% sure this change in staff is why. These wonderful people become family, know us, have our drinks ready before we walk in the door. We’ve seen such a turnover lately and it’s taken away from the charm that this place once held. With all of the places about to open nearby with the Bend finishing construction, I’m worried about this place being able to compete without the one thing that was keeping us all coming back - the staff.
