My overall rating is a 8.7/10. For example 7/10 is good. The turkey, cheeseburger, and ribs were amazing. I mean this is the best turkey I have ever had. Also the service was absolutely amazing. This would be a great place to take your family to eat. Also they may have the biggest onion rings ever! One last thing is it was exceptionally clean.
Door obviously broken and slamming with every person that came in and went out. Very very loud. Fix the splintering wood on the seats. I have splinters in back of my legs. Quit serving old Brisket too please.
We were very disappointed in the quality of the food. My daughter had the chopped chicken and ended up having 2 larger cartilage pieces in it. My husband took the ribs and brisket also very fatty. The coleslaw was bland. We did like the cornbread and baked beans. I know BBQ is always subject to taste but for $30 a person I would expect better.
Very impressed! Stop by passing through, heard great things about this spot. It was so delicious, the meat was moist and pleasantly smoked to perfection & the mustard based sauce is A-1 , fries w yummy seasoning added, the doughnut style onion is so freaking yummy!!, the cornbread is good, gotta have extra!, the pickled condiments were delicious and complimented the food well! I will definitely be back to enjoy the BBQ.
Loved everything here! Even bought the dry rub and BBQ sauce. Nothing fancy but it is so perfect and delicious. Staff is very very friendly and helpful. Wish Melvin's was in NJ !!!!
They have the best burgers and sides. The burgers are plump and fresh. The hash and rice is my absolute favorite. The bbq is good too. I gave them only 4/5 stars because there have been 3 times we’ve had something missing from our order. Only to realize it once we got home. Food is great but I think they could use a double checker on the to go orders. All in all it’s worth your stop:)
We were looking for a quick meal and decided to try Melvin's BBQ. I ordered the pulled pork platter which came w/two sides. There were a lot of sides to choose from. One was two onion rings. I thought it was odd that they would only give two of them, until I saw the size. They were as big as large donuts and I couldn't finish them. Never had anything like them. Everything was delicious and filling. My friend ordered the Brisket Sandwich which she said was very good. We tried all of the BBQ sauces that they offer and they were very good.
I grew up on Melvin BBQ and it was always a treat. So yesterday I had a few minutes wanted something different for lunch and should of just went to Wendy’s. 17.00 for a little joe basket and tea. The BBQ was cold was drowning in sauce not at all how I remember it. The onion ring was warm the best part where the fries. I have never threw bbq away but it was horrible. I think I remember why I quit going.
I love Melvins. The chicken was very good. I got it without the sauce and it was tasty and well seasoned. The fried okra was hot and crispy. The macaroni on the other hand could use a little help. It was as if I was eating macaroni with some cheese not the usual one that they serve. And the sweet tea was great as usual. Other than that it was a good visit.
Melvins BBQ is absolutely amazing and delicious. Even when super busy their times tend to be faster than Arby's or McDonald's, but easily way better.Yes price wise they are a bit more but what you pay gets you amazing good, good sizes, friendly service, and always welcomes you to come back.
