Wow. We were very pleasantly surprised with our first dining experience in Charleston.Everything we tried was excellent. The garlic knots and pizza are the standouts.Staff was friendly, helpful and really hustle and displayed an enviable amount of hustle.
When you come in as a traveler and you leave feeling like you just had a family dinner, and the staff is your new family. The pizza is great; Italian in tradition and flavor. The smells of authentic Italian flare on every dish they serve. By far the best pizza in the south!!!! Thank you for La Pizzaria; this is what restaurants should be. ❤️
My BF and I just left this amazing establishment and I am still a little tipsy from the delicious wine. This place was AMAZING. We had the bruschetta (WOW), the caprese pizza, an amaretto cake, and plenty of wine—-all of it absolutely fantastic. The waiter Tim was informative, friendly, and really made our experience that much more enjoyable. The other employees were also lovely. We absolutely want to come back again and will recommend this restaurant to all of our friends and family!!
The food, service, and atmosphere was MAGNIFICENT! This place stays busy but don't let any lines dissuade you. Most people waiting are waiting for online orders and the staff gets you seated quickly and takes care of you. The bruschetta was amazing, the marsala, was superb, our kids loved the pizza!! I can't stress enough how great the experience was that we enjoyed. Truly lovely!!
Came for dinner with a friend, and it did not disappoint. Very authentic Italian food in Mt pleasant. My friend and I are both from NJ, and we both agreed it was delicious. Tim, our server, made some excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We chatted with the owner, a sweet lady from Italy. We ordered two pizzas to split and a salad. We enjoyed every bite. Definitely will be back.
La Pizzeria is amazing. That's it. All you need to know. But if you want details...The food is amazing. When I arrived the staff informed me of the specials as well as when and where the ingredients and dishes came from.I believe the restaurant is owned by a Italian family, and pretty sure we heard some of the other customers speaking Italian. (If that helps to prove authenticity).Obviously, as it has 'pizza' in the name of the restaurant, we ordered a pepperoni pizza to share at our table and it was fantastic.I ordered one of the specials which was a seafood risotto and I have zero complaints. We were informed that the seafood had come into the store earlier that day, and I believe it was caught locally. For dessert we had cannolis and tiramisu, both of which were delicious and fresh.Definitely check this place out for some good Italian food.
This family run Italian restaurant was absolutely delicious!!! It was so yummy that we even went twice. The pizza was unbelievable!!! It was as good as any pizza we’ve had in Italy!!! Our second visit we had the veal short ribs and chicken with artichokes and capers in a delicious butter sauce! We had two different tiramisu which were both scrumptious!!!
Having visited Italy many times for business I can only add to the many wonderful reviews you will read here. Authentic Italian food AND hospitality. You feel welcome from the minute you walk in the door until you walk out. Imported ingredients, home made dishes, genuine Italian hospitality, you won't go wrong choosing La Pizzeria. Thanks Tim for your great service and recommendations.
Ordered an 18" pizza to-go last night with shrimp, spinach, onion, garlic, broccoli, and black olives. Since we didn't eat in the restaurant, this is more like half of a review. The staff was clear and friendly on the phone, making it quick and simple to place our order. We were quoted 25 minutes and sure enough, the pizza was ready when we got there. The pizza...was delicious! My roommate's family is Italian and makes pizza from time to time, plus he baked pizzas at a few restaurants for years, so when he tells me to rate a pizza 5 stars, I'm impressed. Really, pizzas should be compared as cheese only and we had a lot of toppings, but I'm not being that critical. Everything tasted fresh and had amazing flavor and I was definitely digging the thin crust, which was cooked well.Would happily order from here again.
This is when words don’t do it justice. Probably the pinnacle of Italian food in South Carolina. Everything from start to finish was as good as it gets! The ceaser dressing phenomenal, the caprese pizza was unlike anything and the crust was thin and crispy to perfection. Best off the beaten path place in Mt. Pleasant to be honest.
