We haven't been to this restaurant for a few months. They changed size and ingredients of the bread. The bread is about 1/3 of the size it used to be. Taste is not the same. The sandwich ingredients: mozzarella cheese is cheaper variety, the prosciutto was tough...The best thing about the sandwiches was the bread. Very disappointed.I guess we will not be coming back.

While this place may have been decent at some point, today it is shabby and filthy, and the service is surly. We went early afternoon on a Saturday. It wasn’t busy, there was only one other couple sitting at a table, no one else waiting to order or pick up. The guy behind the counter was less than enthusiastic about taking our order, no pleasantries, no attempt to be helpful, just “What do you want.” Like we were keeping him from doing something more important. Despite being practically empty, every single table in the place was dirty with food residue. The floor was littered with leaves that had blown in. Unfortunately I decided to use the restroom on the way out. It was DISGUSTING. Even the sink was grimy. Had I seen that first I never would have ordered food. I gave this dump a 2 instead of a 1 because the sandwich was OK, though nothing special. Mount Pleasant has so many great restaurants, avoid this one.

I’ve loved Joey’s Tomato in the past but today I ordered the #13 for $11 that was supposed to have prosciutto, basil, tomato, & mozzarella. I got the sandwich and it just had mozzarella & tomato. I called and the lady working told me they don’t make it that way anymore but they haven’t changed it on their website, and didn’t offer to make another even though it was their mistake. Kind of a bummer. Wish they were better with customer service & apologized for the mistake. But instead I payed $11 for a sandwich with just mozzarella, tomato balsamic. :/Please change your website to the correct info.

It's been typically great. However, the last 2 orders I had through Doordash, the bread was bad wheat loaf bread. With all due respect, paying 10 to 15 bucks for a sandwich, I expect fresh bread. ?‍♂️

Awesome sandwiches with quality ingredients. Very few good delis in the area and this one should definitely be in your top 3.

Very nice roast beef sandwich. I didn't care for the stinky cheese, but no biggie: I took it off.

ordered a #1, bread is SUPER stale (cut the inside of my mouth multiple times), extremely minimal amount of red peppers, and overall lack of love was given in preparing my meal. Classis SC imposter of a true Italian restaurant.

We decided to try this place on a cold 45 degree rainy day because their menu said that they offered “seasonal soups”. However, they offered one soup which was a tomato soup that didn’t even come out with the sandwiches my daughter and I ordered. We had finished our sandwich when the soup came out and the soup was not even luke-warm temperature-wise. The sandwiches had very little chicken on it and was about 90 percent bread. The menu looked good but the food didn’t deliver. Very disappointing experience as we always like to support local but they have inferior product and service. The poor weather was forecasted for several days and it’s head scratching that they didn’t have more soup offerings on a day like today. I suspect they won’t be in business very much longer.

It's honestly a little awkward there, but my sandwich was amazing and I didn't feel the need to get stabby. 5 stars on the food, not the atmosphere.

So delicious! Sandwiches are fantastic and my husband really enjoyed the chicken noodle soup. He said it was homemade and very flavorful. Service was friendly too.
