My fiancé and I visited Jack’s Cosmic Dogs after heading to Boone Hall Plantation and would fully recommend a visit. They had a great choice of different hot dogs and sandwiches a long with fries and shakes. We both got a hot dog and shared a large basket of fries with a milkshake. Food was delicious and well priced. Also we were staying a good 20 minutes away and with no Wi-Fi we weren’t sure how to get back home. When we asked the staff how we could get back to our hotel everyone was very nice and doing all the could to look up buses and then one person ordered us an Uber. Would 100% recommend a visit.
This used to be my favorite place to eat in the area including all the four and five star restaurants. It was taken over by new management several months ago and I think it has gone downhill ever since. Contrary to what the previous reviewer said, I really like the soggy hotdog with chili on it. To him, you may want to come back. It has changed. The hotdogs are bigger and fatter and the buns are mostly table buns and not hotdog buns. They also have sesame seeds on them. I had trouble finding the chili on my hotdog and the coleslaw tasted like something right out of the package. Very disappointed in that. On a better note, the french fries did not change and were just as good as ever. I live in the area, but I probably won’t return anytime soon. I’m gonna give it another chance next year, but so far as my experience the other day, no.
Good all-beef hot dogs; fast service; good prices. However, the place is small and tables inside are crammed close together. There are a few tables outside though. Also, tables are not really cleaned after customers leave (at least they weren't when we were there), so you'll need to wipe off your own table. Also, I ordered a hot dog with ketchup, but they put so much ketchup on there that the bun was soggy by the time we picked up our order, and the hot dog kept sliding off the bun because it was swimming in ketchup. They have ketchup on the table, so just skip it when you order.
Retro themed diner! Cheap dogs and lots of ways to order your dog. The chili dog really hit the spot and was devoured in seconds. Try the Jack's Cosmic Dog with the sweet potato mustard. Fries were hot and fresh. Order at the counter, wait for your meal and when its ready pay at the counter. A little odd but I guess it works for them. Could also buy tokens to play some of the arcade games. Wish I saved room for ice cream too. All was decently priced!
Our friends told us how amazing Jack’s Cosmic Dogs was, so we were excited about eating here on our trip to Mount Pleasant/Charleston SC. First let me say, the service was good and fast, and the atmosphere was cute and quirky. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the hype. The hot dog was in a hoagie bun, so much bread you couldn’t taste the dog or condiments. The bun may have been better if it was buttered and toasted, but it wasn’t. I ate a hot dog with chili, cheese and onion. The bun was so dry and overwhelming, I ordered an extra cup of chili and a cup of slaw to put on it. It was okay after that. The large basket of fries was plenty for both my husband and me. The fries were very good, thin, salty and crispy. They were the highlight of the meal. The soft drinks were self-serve with free refills. We decided on a swirl soft serve ice cream for dessert. The servings of ice cream were very generous, but the ice cream wasn’t smooth and creamy, and the chocolate in the swirl had a strange taste. My husband threw his away after one taste. My husband has never thrown ice cream away in his life. If your going for the experience of eating at Jack’s Cosmic Dogs, it is a cute place with fast, friendly service. If you are going expecting one of the best hot dogs you will ever eat, you will be underwhelmed.
I decided to give this place a try since it had such good reviews. The wife and I both order hot dogs, fries, and a root beer on draft. The hot dog I got was not what I ordered but after waiting in line for a while I decided to just roll with it. When my wife got hers we noticed it was wrong as well. Again, we decided to just go with it anyway. The hotdogs themselves tasted like regular Franks Ballpark hotdogs, nothing special. For the price I expected something else or at least bigger. The toppings were okay I guess, but I'm not sure what they exactly gave me since it wasn't what I ordered. The best thing there was the root beer. They have it on draft which was great. The only thing disappointing about the draft root beer is that they advertise you will get it in a frosted mug, but you don't. They give it to you in a throw away paper cup. I'll probably give this place another shot but not any time soon.
Woaooooo!!!! These hot dogs are Amazing!!! I haven't eaten such a good hot dog in a while and it's not only the weiners, it's the different combinations they have that are so delicious!!! Family friendly, all the decorations are awesome, it gets busy but if you go around 3pm on a weekend it's pretty fast service. All the staff are friendly and super quick with your order, of course I was there twice and if they are busy you need a bit of patience, but it's worth it!!! I Highly recommend it!!!
Good food. First time here. We will lol return. Fries were great. Great decor. Fun place to have a quick bite. Great greeter at door.
Heading north from palmetto Bluff, it was time for lunch. Looking for just a fast food place, we flew by Jacks on the side of the road and decided to do a u-turn. So glad we did. We had the Blue Cosmic Dog(upsize it) with fries and chocolate shake. But take your time to check out the memorabilia and art work. So much fun.
Jack's has an acquired country type decor, most of the customers are local more male than female, medium age 30. Good staff, I had Cosmic Dog w/slaw.
