Good food, reasonable prices, good service
Well, what I really liked was hush puppy. That is it. I had shrimp grits(it is awarded per their menu). I did not care. I had much much better shrimp grits in Louisiana. If you like fried seafood, it is all good, but they need improve side dishes with fried stuff.
I've not had the pleasure of dining in yet, but have picked up several times. If you want a great burger here in oak grove or Lexington, come here, also shrimp and grits amazing. And thank you to the lovely young lady Carla who helped me with my order, very professional and very happy to help. Highly recommend!
excellent food and excellent service from Carla and everyone who greeted me
great food we have been there twice. great selection and great price. great service
Disappointing beyond anything I could have expected. Reading reviews of this place had me prepared for a good meal but what I received wasnt even what was described on the menu. I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes. The "garlic mashed potatoes" were plain and unseasoned. The "southern style green beans" are just the same. Unseasoned and straight from the can. The most surprising part is the water-thin "gravy" included in a tiny soufflé cup. Bland, boring and disappointing. Will not be back.
Had Maddie as a server- she did a great job, so pleasant. It’s crazy because this was my first time here. I literally have lived near it since it came into existence. I drove by a million times and probably half a million of those times I thought to myself “I have to try that”. I really have been missing out. I got the fried scallops, really good. My date got fried shrimp - mighty tasty! Pricing was very reasonable in my opinion. I didn’t get any alcohol- but noticed they had bottle selections. I believe only bottle-if I am wrong I apologize. I would love to see them get some draft beers. Maybe a kick you in the face ipa, and then something light? I’d drink it! I will be back- I feel like they are a super local restaurant and they are doing it right, us locals need to support that.
I have had great experiences with this restaurant. So I went back and forth between 2 and 3 stars. But the 2 stars would have been due to the shrimp and grits. I ordered it twice thinking the first time was an exception. The taste is great but not put together well at all. I had a bowl of grits, some shrimp, and 3, yes 3, pieces of sausage. I don't know if that is just a basic way it comes and you have to ask for anything additional. If it is I will have to make sure I do that. Because the last two that I received were not what I wanted at all.
We went between the lunch and dinner crowds on a Saturday. There were 8-10 groups there. Servers were attentive without hovering. Food was served hot with plentiful portions. The seafood had a tasty breading that was over breaded for my taste but delicious. Shrimp tasted like shrimp and scallops tasted like scallops. So many times seafood is over cooked and taste like breading blobs but not here. I would recommend the Oak Grove Fish House.
I was looking forward to a really good meal, but that did not happen. There was very unprofessional behavior by some of the staff. while we sat there waiting for our food the ladies in the kitchen, which is open to the dining area, were singing a song very loud, "I'm gonna need somebody to ride me" when several of the customers including myself started looking around , one of the waitresses told the staff that customers could hear them, one of them came back with, "they'll be alright" I'm not sure who was supposed to be in charge, but the lack of respect for the customers who are the ones keeping u in business is shameful. The food was very disappointing as well. the only positive things I can say are: hushpuppys were good, tea was good and the waitress was very nice. We will definitely not be back and no recommendations will be given
