The price is a little expensive, but don't let that deter you if you want to try this place. It is worth every penny. The sushi is the best I've ever had, and I eat a lot of sushi in various places. We had sushi, the vegetable dumplings, and a few drinks. I highly suggest trying the Fortune Cookie. It is a dangerous combo of Amaretto, Triple Sec, Bailey's Irish Cream, Half and Half, and Vanilla Vodka. You cannot taste the alcohol, but you'll definitely get a buzz quick! Everything was amazing, down to our waitress, who was very efficient and attentive. Definitely suggest trying it, you won't regret it. We did have a 15 minute wait because the restaurant was full, but we were called quickly to be seated.
The food and service here is absolutely wonderful. Our server was so sweet! They have such large portions so the price makes the food worth it. Their stir fry dishes are great, and I love their brown garlic sauce!! The dumplings are amazing too, and the jasmine tea complimented our meal nicely. I had an amazing dinner aside from the Very Rude couple sitting next to us, but that was completely out of this establishment's hands. Such a great restaurant, they really deserve a more diverse and better clientele!
Nearly every time i visit my mom, we go to Antai. This small mom and pop restaurant is nothing short of spectacular. There are very few restaurants my mom can eat at as she has life-threatening food allergies (pepper and eggs). Antai takes her food allergies seriously and always special cooks her orders, finding ways to add flavor without pepper. You'd be amazed how many restaurants don't take food allergies seriously and put plates covered in pepper in front of my mom.I have nothing but the highest compliments for the cleanliness of their restaurant. It's another reason we felt comfortable coming here during and after COVID. when a table is finished eating they take tremendous care to clean, wiping down not only the table but also the booths and chairs.Lastly is the food. The sushi is top-class, so it's always hard to choose between that and the shrimp kabobs. Constantly craving the soy vinaigrette dressing on their house salad. Everything tastes super fresh. Can't recommend enough.
The service here was great and the food, even better. The vegetable tempura was delicious and perfect. The cucumber roll and spider roll were delicious. The kids chicken skewer and dumpling meals were great sizes and my kids loved them. The sampler was great too, highly recommend as the vegetable spring rolls, dumplins, crab wontons are all delicious
We drove about an hour from Augusta to try this place out after checking out the reviews on google maps. We arrived around 7pm on a Saturday night and were told we would have about a 25 minute wait. We sat outside on the patio and waited until we were texted to come inside. The interior of the restaurant is really cute, it can easily be a causal jeans and sneakers place or a dressy date night spot. They have a HUGE menu which was the first thing that struck us. Sooooo many options, it is really hard to choose what to eat! It all looks so good and the smell inside of the restaurant doesn’t help, there are constant smells of ginger and meat, it’s intoxicating. They have several specialty cocktails, we tried 4 of them and they were all really good. I would suggest the Fortune cookie, my fella would suggest the Grand Margarita. We ordered calamari and crab wontons as our appetizers, both were good. I always wanted to try a REAL ‘crab Rangoon’ and that’s what it was giving me. Real blue crab meat and not imitation crab. For our entrees we ordered the king pow chicken and the green coconut curry with beef. I tried only a bite of my SO’s kung pow chicken but it was delicious! The peanuts were a nice textural difference. My coconut curry was AMAZING. I’ve had authentic Thai green curry yearsss ago and I couldn’t find anything to come close until last night. It was so creamy and had the perfect amount of heat. They weren’t stingy with the meat which I appreciated. Our server was very busy so we spend over an hour and a half there but she came to check on us as much as possible and made sure our drinks were full. I was surprised at how affordable this place is as well, 2 apps, 4 cocktails, 1 sweet tea and 2 entrees came right up under $100. My only complaint is I didn’t see anywhere on their site where you can make reservations online. We took a chance driving an hour away, luckily our wait time wasn’t ridiculous but it would have been nice to be seated immediately with a reservation. Maybe we will call next time and see if they’re able to set them over the phone. No worries. I would recommend this place and I will come back in the near future.
The food is delicious and made with fresh quality ingredients. The drinks are wet and the waitress laughed at my Dad jokes. The only issue is this place gets packed in the evenings so you may experience a 30-60 minute wait. Their bar is small but if you can snag a seat the time will fly by.
Amazing food, sushi rolls very tasty, pad thai was increible, salad and miso soup super fresh. The place was clean, bathrooms are clean, highly recommend.
My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch there! They are so nice, clean!I had sushi sweet potato tempura roll and the shrimp tempura roll, both excellent, so good!Another friend had sweet and sour chicken, that was delicious! The last friend had salad with noodles and the chicken skewers on top!So, so good!I will definitely go there again!
I had an on-line order that was to be ready at noon. It was not ready until 12:20 and I was given some lame excuse why it was late. After I finally received my food, I saw that I only had one small container of soy sauce for five people. I asked if I could possibly get a few more. I was told by the hostess waiting on me that she would need to charge for it. I told her I just paid $99 for my food and you're going to charge me for a few containers of soy sauce!I I told her to forget it and I won't be back at your restaurant again. It wasn't that I couldn't afford to pay for the sauce, but it was the principle of it. She just gave me a smug, "I don't care" look and never offered to see what she could do about. it. Antai lost a loyal customer over a few dollars and refusal to make a customer happy about eating at their restaurant.
Don't get me wrong, the food here is very good. That's probably the reason we keep giving it another chance; however, after our experience last night, we are very seriously considering never going back. We called in a to-go order and were advised up front it was going to take 45 minutes to an hour. Decided to order anyway. Ordered four sushi rolls and an appetizer. Ran a few errands then decided to head over and just pay for the order then wait for it at the bar. Granted they were very busy, but it didn't seem like any one person was dedicated to making sure to-go orders were monitored...and they do a lot of to-go business since the dining room is small and wait times are long to get seated. The young man I paid ghosted probably to help out somewhere else, and my order ended up sitting for probably 15 to 20 minutes before the girl working the bar checked it and asked me what the name on my order was. I saw the order sitting there but I didn't necessarily know it was mine and I didn't want to bother the girl working the bar as she was extremely busy. My appetizer was cold so they re-made it, but as you can imagine, the sushi was warm. Just overall a big disappointment and makes it hard t want to patronize the restaurant again.
