Family friendly place. Great authentic Mexican food. The seafood is delicious.
Generosity redefined and delicious food. Had live music and a great experience!
Ate here for the first time last night. It was delicious! I forgot to take a picture tho. Husband got chimichangas and I got chilaques with chicken. Portions were so big I ate lunch and dinner from it today. Granted I don't have a huge appetite but still. Chicken was tender and juicy. I'm pretty sure they fry their own chips in house. Most places I don't eat the rice they serve because I don't like it, but the rice they had here was really tasty. The live music was nice too. Will be repeat customers for sure
There were 666 reviews before mine, so I'll go ahead and readjust the devils horns real quick and make it 667. Good food though if you're wondering
Disgusting. Our food came out, sitting in a pool of grease. We watched our server sit to eat her own food, then bring ours to the table without washing her hands. She remembered to put her mask back on tho. ??♀️
Extensive menu, reasonable prices on the standard Mexican foods, higher prices (as expected) for the more specialized seafood menu items. Portions were generous. Service was very good. Will go there again the next time we stop overnight at the nearby campground.
I've been hearing how great this place is for awhile. I finally picked up dinner otw home and it's all true. Salsa is homemade and excellent, unique flavor with the homemade tortillas. All the food was fantastic and with large portions. Taking my family out to eat there soon.
So good! We stopped in on our way back to Georgia and it was great. There was a mariachi band, fresh homemade tortilla chips and really fast service.
We were just passing through for a few nights at the RV park down the road. We love Mexican food so thought we would give it a try. Boy, were we shocked! The food is fresh, the portions are huge! (Too big, almost) I had the shrimp cerviche, carnitas with a chili poblano stuffed with cheese- everything was delicious! BF had calimari and seafood paella and he pulled out a whole crab!!! It looked and tasted amazing! Highly recommend this to anyone! We may go back again tonight to try some new dishes!
We live close by so we were excited to try 7 Mares out. Our first take out order was family size paella, quesadillas, and bean burrito. It was a huge amount of food for two people, but it tasted great. We were curious how fresh the seafood in the paella was since the restaurant only had two tables taken by one party; it didn’t seem cost effective to have fresh seafood that wouldn’t get sold. That night I had food poisoning, my boyfriend felt alright. Last night, we ordered shrimp tacos for two, and he got talked into some expensive appetizer that made our $24 order suddenly $54. The app was large shrimp in shell in a bowl of “spicy” tomato sauce. The shrimp was mushy and hard to get out of the shell. We should have returned it as soon as we noticed the shrimp. It was not a good meal. And the tacos were not great. Somehow the idea of mixing seafood with refried beans just doesn’t sound or look great. I’ve never had fish or shrimp tacos anywhere that resembled 7 Mares. Then again, I lived in places that had fresh seafood every day. Anyway, last night and this morning I had extreme cramping and diarrhea…again. I know that’s “too much information” but I wanted to help others avoid the same issue. My boyfriend is also feeling sick this time. Would I recommend 7 Mares? Not to friends. But to the average person, I’d say be cautious. And my suggestion to 7 Mares is, offer a limited menu of items they can guarantee fresh. You have TWO massive menus worth of meals, but it doesn’t seem you have the business (pandemic, maybe?) to afford those seafood items be fresh. Two tables full each night doesn’t seem like you’re a business that can afford TWO full menus of fresh ingredients. We could have eaten five day old shrimp for all we know. We spent over $100 in two visits for food that made us sick. So disappointing. Re-evaluate your menu and stop offering seafood that isn’t absolutely fresh and high quality. No one wants to be known as the place that gives everyone food poisoning. Oh, and wear a mask. Maybe you’d get more business if people felt safe eating there during the pandemic. We would’ve liked to sit down to eat but there were zero protocols being taken; the one waitress that was wearing a mask had it below her chin. Normally we wouldn’t even order take out from a place like this, but we were excited for non-fried seafood (The Fish House is close to us and it’s allllll fried) close to us. Lesson learned, money wasted, and I’ll have another miserable morning with abdominal cramps. I worry for your business. Even McDonalds offered a limited menu during the pandemic. If you can’t guarantee fresh seafood, take it off the daily menu and make it a special when you can afford it.
