We were surprised that chips and salsa are not part of your meal or beforehand. We have never been to a Mexican restaurant (over multiple states) and were not served chips. That aside, the food was ok. Service was ok too. The portions are average or a little less. My dinner was a seafood dish of 3 items. The chef forgot one of them! After I asked where it was, the waitress checked to see if I was correct and then asked the chef, she did bring the missing food to the table. We didn’t take Tio’s off our list for next year but I’m not sure we will be back.
The food was amaaazing!!!! I had the Ropa Vieja and my husband had the Paella, it was so good. The flan was beyond amazing. The service was great as well, will def be coming back!
Service was amazing, super friendly and quick. Great tips on what to order from the menu and everything tasted really good.
Too many missteps to enumerate. Server tried to make amends but can’t make up for a lousy experience start to finish. When your empanada is more frozen than your frozen mudslide, it might be the sign of an issue. Margarita literally a glass of ice. Really guys? C’mon. Mudslide was good. Employees on phones, has to find the so-called hostess ten minutes after being seated as no one came to our table. Avoid. Waste of a late night evening on island. No oversight anywhere to be seen. A definite F.
We ate dinner here and loved the setting and the food. Seating was prompt thanks to Open Table and our service was quick. The spicy margarita's were tasty and they have the best Cuban Sandwich I've had to date. Loved the outdoor seating area and would definitely recommend Tio's!
On our family vacay at Hilton head we grabbed lunch at Tio’s, customer service was great. Food was very fresh and you could actually see the chef making fresh food through the open kitchen. Ton of options for kids as well.
We decided to eat out every night on vacation and try a different restaurant every night. Hands down the best overall meal of the week. The food was done perfectly and the wait staff was attentive and was constantly checking the table to see if we needed anything. The Cuban roasted pork was delicious and the burritos were excellent.
Great atmosphere now on the left side perfect lighting. Outdoor area now has a cover over it. I think they still do live music during the summer an have a perfect stage. Food has gotten even better. They have games for kids outside on the right. Nice bar area. Service was slightly slow to check on us but small gripe.
Service was friendly. The chicken quesadilla might have been the best meal on our table. Seafood in burrito bowl was fresh. Other things were a little pre-prepped. Food came out all at once. Nice sunset views from patio.
Being a islander for over 30 years I completely understand the labor issues that effect all Island businesses. Went to the restaurant last night for fathers day. We had 5 people in our party. From the start the service was slow. Ordered drinks that took 15 minutes to get. The restaurant wasn't even busy. Again I understand the labor issues but I noticed a lot of staff standing around the bar the whole time we were there. In conclusion when we finally received the check we noticed a automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill. Why? No one could explain why it was added. Not very cool!
