Food was pretty tasty! Wings crispy, burger juicy, Location great, right by the beach. 4 stars bc the service was awful... But hopefully you don't get our Eeyore of a server! All the other servers that we had to ask for drinks, refills, and check were great!
Nice experience! Just had the nachos with chicken and they were phenomenal, some of the best ive ever had. Massive portion could easily split between 3-4ppl as an app, we split between 2 as an entree. Everything had a smokey, grilled flavor to it which was unique but delicious! Big chunks of chicken, tons of corn and peppers. Toppings were layered all throughout and not just on top. The chips were perfect, kinda thick and crispy. It also came out very quickly! Staff was friendly. Live music was nice! All the food being brought out around the restaurant looked amazing.Arrive early because there is often a long wait. They were packed at 5:30 and the wait was 45+ min.
The taco scallops were amazing! The taco shells and chips are made in house. My son had the children's chicken fingers and said it tasted great! The atmosphere is very relaxing.
The food was great. I had the chance to try the Dirty Bird and the Caribbean Chicken. Both we’re delicious. The Caribbean Chicken was just the right amount of sweet and spicy. Everyone was friendly and the service was superb.
This place was very crowded. Our server was polite but not necessarily nice. Honestly he looked super stressed out and bored at the same time (odd combination for sure). The food was very meh. The kids’ grilled cheese was too salty, my burger was overcooked and lacked any flavor, and hubby’s dish was just unappealing as well. Would not recommend.
Food was great and the staff we interacted with was really nice! We sat outside and didn't feel hot at all. The cocktails were a really good price, and we LOVED the loaded hush puppy appetizer. I got the cho co shrimp and it was great! Definitely would come back if I were in the area again. The menu is different but not alienating! There is a small parking lot near the restaurant, but it is right across the street from the public beach parking as well. : )
Probably our best meal at Hilton Head. Well worth your time...while you wait to be seated you can shop around at the shops right nearby. Fun live music when we were there and sitting outside was the best!
Met a friend for lunch to catch up. Had not been to The Sandbar for lunch before. We were seated in a lovely outdoor seating area and immediately greeted by our server Tessa. After bringing water, she took our drink order and we opted for the House Bloody Mary. They were delicious. I opted to order the coconut shrimp and an order of onion rings and my friend chose the seafood topped green salad. Although the restaurant was quite crowded, the food came quickly and was plated beautifully. The shrimp were large and crispy, served on top of a bed of slaw and a delicious orange marmalade dipping sauce. Onion rings were crisp and not greasy, a large portion for $4. My friend's salad had a good portion of fresh seafood. Tessa was attentive and checked with us several times to ask if we needed anything. We were both satisfied with both food and service and plan to return again, next time with our husbands and maybe for Happy Hour.
I have been going to the SandBar since its inception 6 years ago. I think this is my fourth review of them. I can't say enough about the quality of food, service, and entertainment. This is a gem of a place for good casual times. Last night I had the Cuban sandwich and it was amazing. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Erica and staff for your hospitality.
If you are in the Coligny Plaza area on HHI, you must try this place. The four of us had lunch and drinks, ate outside, and loved the energy of this place at high noon! I had the fish tacos, and must admit they were probably the best I've ever had. We also had a Cheeseburger, salad, and shrimp orders at our table, and no one was disappointed. Goes great with one of their frozen drink options!
