The Salty Dog is an iconic stop here on Hilton Head. I had the burger and it was pretty good but the tomato slice was hard and bitter. If it was December I might overlook it but it’s July in South Carolina and there is no shortage of places to get great local tomatoes. It made what could have been a great burger into a mediocre one. The service was great but I wouldn’t pay the $9 to get in Sea Pines and drive all the way over here to eat again.

The food was good & we enjoyed the live music. A word of caution - sitting outside, but not under the canopy can be miserably hot until after sunset. Really liked the shrimp & grits - the sweet & cheesy grits offset the super spicy sausage nicely.

We asked nicely to speak to a manager never got one to the table and yet we still paid almost $80 for what was a horrible experience.

Good food for a reasonable price and portion size in this area. The food came out in an acceptable amount of time (15-20 minutes) for coming in during the lunch rush hour. The bathrooms and restaurant itself were clean. Worth a visit if you happen to be in Sea Pines

Great service, waitress was nice and food came out fast . Food was good . I liked the strawberry daiquiri . Ehhh ..

Just the breakfast hush puppies and wonderful setting are enough to give this 5 star reviews! Had great service and sat right by the water with our grandbabies and family at 2 tables. Delicious food.

Maybe seeing so many Salty Dog T-shirts on folks in our home state of OH got our expectations too high but overall we were not impressed. My husband got the mahi mahi ‘special’ and actually had to request another meal because his fish was so dry and flavorless. My seafood pot pie was good but not something I’d want to come back for. Our bill was outrageous and none of us left with much good to say about the food. Tshirt > food

Beautiful scenery and excellent food. I had the fish tacos, which were fresh and flaky. Due to a shellfish allergy, my colleague had the South beach roll which contained lobster and shrimp. She stated that as a Northerner, she approves highly of the lobster. The roll was lightly buttered and the lobster to shrimp ratio was fantastic. Be prepared to pay $9 to enter Sea Pines just to enter the neighborhood to come to this establishment.

Super nice place to enjoy a drink and some food. We ordered at the bar where everyone was very nice and got our food and drinks very fast. My po boy was super fresh, only thing missing is more sauce.

We came to this Salty Dog location while in Sea Pines. We had the pleasure of meeting Dana! Dana has great customer service and a wonderful attitude. We had a couple of drinks and some fried pickles and fries! Nice location on the water! Sea Pines is a very cool place!!
