Such a wonderful bakery!! I’m gluten free and haven’t had a donut in YEARS!! Bernie took great care of us!! Call ahead to order if you don’t want to wait the 20 minutes or so…!! But it’s well worth the wait if you don’t! I’ll definitely be back anytime I’m in HHI!
Wonderful experience. We ordered and were able to pick up our donuts in an hour. But it’s always best to order a day before. The donuts are amazing. We love to support local businesses and a business that takes special dietary needs into consideration.
They offer so many things, so everyone is sure to find something. They make their gluten free donuts in the shop, and they are so good! Will definitely come back and visit!!
Every time we come to Hilton Head we come here. Specifically for the gluten free donuts. They are fresh baked, generously coated and seriously amazing. Do your gluten sensitive belly a favor and GET THESE DONUTS!
Stopped in on our way for a day of shopping. Its was already 10.30 pretty much sold out got 2 yummy coffee cakes. Met the owner she was a dream. We wanted to place order for Saturday and she explained what we needed too do. Cant wait. Our neighbors going love us. see you soon
Walked in and was greeted by friendly people and even better smells!!! We tried the donuts, muffins and scones and loved every bite!!! Highly recommend.

The owner was so wonderfully sweet and accommodating. However, with only ordering 8 donuts, we were there waiting for 45 minutes. The kids liked their donuts though, so that made it worth it.
The new location is adorable. The treats are still the same amaziness! I love the banana pudding and the cheese cake. Lisa is a solopeneur that cares about the quality of her product . I applaud her for being a woman owned business .
The Purple Cow is my new favorite place on the South End! I have been following The Purple Cow Facebook page and wanted to stop in for awhile. Had an opportunity to stop in and was immediately greeted by Lisa J Bernstein, making me feel comfortable and ready to explore the goodies. Her shop is amazing with indoor dining, plenty of space for social distancing, and a patio where I look forward to spending time. The Blueberry Muffin I ordered was literally the best I've ever had. I loved the crumbles and the texture and it was surely made with love and care. The menu changes daily and I made a note of some things I want to try in the future, when available. I also want to note, and thank Lisa, for the hand sanitizer at the door and the masking requirement because it is the responsible thing to do. This shop is roomy, comfortable, friendly, has great sweets, offerings of beverages and bagged coffee, and is socially responsible. Lisa and The Purple Cow are truly leaders and understand what Hilton Head Island is about.
