American Barbeque Chicken Wings

The food was outstanding. Boneless wings (huge, not what you’d expect at all) with their barbecue dry rub were recommended to us and were 100% the BEST wings…ever. Large portions of hand cut chicken (think small chicken tenderloins not the little round pieces.) The jalapeño corn bread drizzled in honey is like cake. Not spicy, simply awesome. Must try. Like a dessert. Skip the chicken pecan salad, over priced and hardly any toppings. Brisket nachos are a HUGE serving and for sharing. Family loved them. Brisket was not lean, bit fatty, if you prefer more lean, order the pulled pork. Our server was nice, yet after our order we didn’t see her at our table until we were 2/3 through our time there. She didn’t refill drinks or even check to see if we liked our meal. The Manager was great. She actually stopped by and checked on us and took care of refills and needed items. You could tell she was experienced and she wanted everyone to have a nice time. For sure a “will eat here again restaurant.”

The place was super busy (4th of July!) but we were seated faster than anticipated. Our favorites at the table were the strawberry jalapeño margarita, smoked fried chicken, hot Asian wings, and the mac and cheese. The serving size was big. Decker and Anastasia helped us and were fantastic!

This place is a must if visiting Hilton Head!! Everything was soooo delicious! We got the brisket chili, boneless wings, brisket, sliders and pulled pork salad. All the sides were great as well. The mac n cheese, coleslaw, sausage stuffing and cornbread were all amazing!

My husband and daughter both had wings, they both said they were the best they have ever tasted. My husband had bone in wings and daughter had boneless. The nachos were great as well.

My family loves the wings so it is a tradition when we go to HHI. The brisket and pork are awesome. The fried onion appetizer was great. When we started going they had a california cobb salad that was out of this world, but now the only thing without meat is a house salad. Now I fully understand it is a meat joint but a few things that are not meat based would be great...even if add meat was an option. For example the mac and cheese appetizers could be add meat.

This restaurant was very overpriced and completely disgusting!! We went with 2 other families who come yearly, who were talking about how amazing this place was. We decided to try it as it was our first time in Hilton Head and we were shocked. We ordered the Mama’s Family Style Platter for $89.99. The other families all got the same thing, and could not believe how gross it was. They all said it was never like this before and they were very disappointed. We got a side of macaroni and cheese with it and my kids wouldn’t even eat it. My kids will eat just about anything!!

Anastasia was an amazing server. Very personable and very attentive to our needs. The food was amazing (and I'm a bit bias when it comes to bbq!). A bit of a wait, but we'll worth it. Drinks were perfectly portioned, with a little heaviness to the alcohol, but not a problem for me and my taste! Portions were good size, and filling. We got desserts to go though, as we were satisfyingly full.

My wife and I visited One Hot Mama's one lazy Monday. We arrived a few minutes before noon and there were several tables and booths available for seating, both indoor and outdoor. We chose indoor and were escorted to a booth with seating for 4-6 people, depending on size. Our food server soon arrived. She was friendly, welcomed us, asked if we had any questions with the menu, and took our drink orders. I ordered an iced tea and my wife had lemonade. The beverages were served in modest plastic drinking glasses with straws, which fit the vibe of the restaurant perfectly: comfortable and casual. My wife said that her lemonade was good, and my iced tea was crisp and clear, not bitter or cloudy. For lunch my wife ordered a lunch special, which consisted of a meat choice along with a choice of three sides. She chose pulled pork with mac and cheese, collard greens, and baked beans. I chose a different lunch special that came with a meat choice and a salad. I chose smoked fried chicken with a chicken pecan salad. We both sampled from each other's plates, and enjoyed everything we ate. The pulled pork was pulled well, with no globs of fat that needed to be manually removed. The smoked fried chicken was moist with a pleasant smoky flavor. The chicken pecan salad had mandarin oranges, strawberries, pecans, chicken, and crunchy noodles served with romaine lettuce with an interesting citrus vinaigrette dressing. The dressing was tangy-sweet and complemented the salad perfectly. Of the three sides that my wife ordered, I enjoyed the collard greens the most. The baked beans were good, but not so exceptional that they were a "must order" for future trips. The mac and cheese was also good, with the cheese velvety smooth in a way that reminded me of processed cheese (which is not a bad thing, in my opinion, for mac and cheese). Both meals also came with a slice of cornbread drizzled with honey. It was very good! We felt that the price for lunch was fair given the amount and quality of food that was served. All in all, we enjoyed the atmosphere, the friendliness and helpfulness of the food server, as well as the quality of the food. It will definitely be a place that we add to our rotation of restaurants we visit.

My husband and I love this restaurant and go every time we vacation on Hilton Head island. I am addicted to their onion strings and always order the appetizer haystack which is a huge pile of onion strings. Love their ribs, burgers and pulled pork sandwiches. Nice touch they serve a squeeze bottle of warm barbeque sauce. Any leftovers heat up nicely!

My husband and I had a early dinner here while staying in Hilton Head for a couple of days. The restaurant was recommended to me and I am happy to report that we enjoyed our meal. My husband had ribs and I had fried chicken, both were very good. The cornbread was some of the best that I have had. I felt the Mac n cheese was just okay. I did not care for the pecan pie because it was hard and rather dry.
