We ate here twice during our 7 day stay. One night dinner and one morning breakfast. Best food we had and we tried several highly recommended places.
Nostalgic Diner!! Exceptional service.
The food is always fantastic. The diner is always really clean! The wait staff are always friendly and willing to give you choice tips if you can't decide what you want. Recently, my daughter and grandson stopped in for a cool treat. My grandson chose ice cream with sprinkles and couldn't eat it all! The ice cream had real strawberries! My daughter and I had a pineapple shake. it was sooo good. made with fresh pineapple. Will definitely be a return customer and highly recommend this diner to everyone!!
Not a big diner person. Went with the family. It was good overall. Waitress was nice and attentive, food came out fairly quick. We all got basic breakfast meals and everything tasted fine. Price was alright for a vacation diner (probably a little high for the taste/quality) but I didn't really have any Complaints. Atmosphere was nice. Slightly better than average diner. I'd go back if someone from the group wanted diner food. I got the big French toast breakfast.
I ordered the stuff french toast and bacon. They use the Challah bread which was good but it could have had more cream cheese stuffing.
We stopped for lunch. The menu was extensive. I got a burger, and hubby got the French dip. Both were well prepared and delicious.
Stopped in for breakfast in May 2022. The server was really nice and the food was great. Actually, the pancakes were really wonderful. The menu was large and varied. The hostess seemed to be a bit frustrated, but other than that it was a good experience. I would definitely eat here again. The dessert case looked AMAZING and that was reason enough to go back!
The food was good however the service was very average. Ownership seemed like she has been doing this a little too long. Would be nice if out hostess could smile. Would have made us feel welcome. She seemed almost frustrated with tourists. I am sue some can be a pain but in this area they do pay the bills. We will be back and hope maybe for improvements.
Broad menu…food seemed better pre Covid..have been back a couple of times over past several months and overall food was not as good as it had been previously.
Our waiter was the best.I ordered a Ruben sandwich with fries and onion rings. It included a slice of dill pickle and slaw. The sandwich came with the sauce in a separate dish.Anyone who has ordered or cooked a Ruben understand the sauce keeps the sandwich moist and should be on the sandwich.I asked all questions prior to placing the order hoping for good results. The rye bread was toasted and burnt on both sides. I brought over half of my meal back to the hotel. I didn't send it back and suffered through because I didn't want to complain. My friend ordered an omelet, hash brown potatoes and toast. I don't have photos of his meal. I never saw an omelet that flat or small. His plate wasn't appetizing to me at all.I ordered a banana split and it was delicious. It was beautiful and fixed the old fashioned way with chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream. Along with chocate chips, walnuts, pineapple sauce, strawberry glaze, bananas and whip cream. We had ice tea and soda as our beverage. We paid just over $50 for the meal and tipped our waiter.I would not want to go back for a meal but I would definitely return for the banana split which was approximately $9 before tax.I hope this post helps!
