Can I rate Flora's Italian Cafe at 10/10. I will anyways. We had an issue with our meal tonight, Flora personally took care of us and made sure her customer was treated properly. I will not share all the details in this review, but her actions and the way she treats customers is amazing. A lot of restaurant owners can a thing or two about customer service from Flora and her team. They have a raving fan for life and I will tell everyone that comes to Hilton Head about the awesome commitment to client and customer satisfaction from everyone at Flora's Italian Cafe. Job well done!
Floras is one of our favorite places . The food is consistently good with excellent service. Flora is very nice and makes great desserts . Good variety of food and prices consistent with other restaurants in the area. The escargot is excellent.
It was just ok. The tiramisu had liquid chocolate sauce on top not cocoa powder.Service was great until the end when the server suggested adding gratuity in. When we said we would do it ourselves (thinking we tip 20% always and auto gratuity is 18% typically), she then proceeded to physically write in the 20% amount on the check so we know what it would have been had she just added it in. It was almost like stating that that was her expectation and was off putting.
I’ve never experienced such bad service and attitude from an owner and staff. The clams in one of our dishes was bad and smelled terrible. Brought it to the owners attention and she acts as if we don’t know what we’re talking about. This was after the calamari appetizer was drowned in an overly sweet sauce that completely overpowered anything else on the plate. I mention this to the server and we get ‘but this is a favorite of everyone else.’ This is when I first experienced the attitude that they think they know better than you. This place used to be good but we will never go back and I recommend if you don’t want your vacation evening ruined, find another place to dine. It’s not worth the aggravation or the money you will spend for it.
Very poor service. We came here because the food was highly recommended. We were warned about poor service by a colleague though, by the lady who works there who yelled at her. We decided to give it a chance. We were able to get drinks at the bar, but they never took our food order. A couple sat next to us and received white glove treatment. The people in the dining room were being served. When we asked why we couldn’t get service while others could, the lady said it read because we didn’t have a reservation. Why didn’t she tell us that when we first got there?We left, never to return, and have advised our friends and family of our experience. One star is too many for this restaurant.
Excellent dinners and appetizers. We would definitely come back. The fish and the veal dishes were amazing and so fresh. The desserts were keepers as well. Especially the coconut cake.

This restaurant is our top pick of the manyfine restaurants on HH Island. The food isdivine, and the interior decor makes one feel as though they were actually in Italy,...from lovely plants to tapestries on the walls. Staff issuperb and attentive. I wish we had a place like this in our area, but alas...l believe that Flora'sis....."one of a kind".
My family of 13 have been coming to Flora’s for close to 15 years. Never once have we had a bad experience. The food is always outstanding and the service makes you feel like you’re part of their family. I urge you to read their story on their website and make note that they are RESERVATION ONLY. They are a family owned and operated restaurant with a limited staff, so please be patient! All of their desserts are homemade by Flora herself! Do not miss this place on your next trip to Hilton Head!
The pace and the service was perfect. All the appetizers ( calamari, onion soup, prosciutto e melone) were fabulous. All our mains were wonderful. Felt like a family restaurant and it is! Highly recommend. Only regret is that we did not save room for dessert.
