Excellent good, fast service, and friendly! We actually came to go to the crab shack but it has a 2 hour line, so went to Chow Daddy's instead. Boy are we glad we did! Walked in, had friendly service, ordered food and had it on the table in under 30 min total! Not only that, but all our food was top notch great and tasty! Honestly don't think we could have had a better meal and glad we came here instead. The pulled pork was good, the smoked fried chicken with sirracha aoili was outstanding, southern fried chicken also great, as well as the veggie bowl. Definitely will go again, and gonna be hard to top this meal on the rest of our trip I think! ?

8 of us dined last week at Hilton Head. Two had burgers, good at that was the high point. The rest had tacos. Nothing served with them. No beans, rice or chips. Looked plain on plate. One couple bought the street corn under the sharable. That was a joke. Not even enough for one person. No chips nothing served with street corn. I guess they expect everyone to pass the small bowl and fork it into their mouth. Probably won't return.

I visited this restaurant as a result of its listing in the 'Official' South Carolina BBQ TRAIL MAP produced by DISCOVER South Carolina. Well I should have read the reviews before my visit. Parking was difficult and the restaurant was very busy, fortunately we had booked a table. My wife and I ordered the homemade lemonade which was okay, followed by corn bread with Jalapenos and Chipotle Sauce as a starter to share. It was nice, but I was dissapointed to see that it was fried as this was not mentioned on the menu. For the main course, my wife ordered the Fried Chicken Taco and I ordered the Pork Bun with Shoestring fries. Both meals took ages to arrive, however our waitress did eventually apologise. My wifes' meal was nice, however the pork in my bun was barely warm and was certainly not pulled pork as described on the menu. It was just small lumps of pork, some of which was just pieces of fat. I complained to another one of the waitresses as I was unable to find our waitress. She seemed unwilling to deal with my complaint and only wanted to know who our waitress was. A conversation took place between them and shortly after they were joined by the manager. Our waitress then came over and apologised, but didn't remove the problem food. The manager then came over to our table and asked if everything was okay, in a manner that was somewhat surly. I said. 'No'. It was as if he had not absorbed the information relayed to him by the waitresses. I was asked what I wanted as a replacement and requested the Pork bun again. The second meal arrived, this time the meat was hot. It was again small pieces of pork prepared in the same way, some of which was quite fatty, but was an improvement on the first effort. Overall the restaurant appeared to be poorly managed the food was below par, and the staff lacked the ability to properly communicate with the customers. I wouldn't rush back.

After waiting over an hour for our food, one of our meals was still missing. When we inquired with the sever he said he was told by the kitchen staff that it would take an “extra 25 minutes” for a well done hamburger. We said ok. After twenty more minutes the appetizer came out after the entrees. When we inquired again about the missing meal, and he looked confused. We asked to see a manager and she had no explanation. Service was bad, food was bad and we never got our missing meal. The manager did end up not charging us, but the experience was severely disappointing. Will not return.

Ciao Daddy……Chow Daddy’s seems to be running like a once amazing restaurant by a current staff without a leader. The food and menu has so much potential, but fell flatPros:Options for most eaters (burger, fried chicken, rice bowl, taco)Easy to get a tableReasonable pricesFlavorful food (clarified below)Fun stuff to do if you have to wait (ping pong/pinball- if you bring 75 cents/ game)ConsIncredibly under-staffedKitchen could not keep upFood was tired (explained below)Sides/starters were TINYWait staff very disorganizedMeal took 50 minutes to arrive—-Meal details—We ordered the Mexican corn, got about 2 Tablespoons for a side/starter. So we ordered more tasted amazing!Ordered buttermilk corn bread- came out FRIED- not mentioned on the menu… was gross. And charredOrdered fries, over salted, ugh..but that’s my preferenceMain meal- two of us ordered tacos- it was more like Kale salad in a tortilla with a smidge of meat. But, Great sriracha sauce. Two of us ordered fried chicken sandwich- it was good with the sauce and sweet pickle- but the fryer-oil tasted like it hadn’t been changed in a while.Other two got the bowl with rice and fish. Fish was good, but again the kitchen used Kale like it was the hottest vegetable ever and missed the mark-ALL IN ALL we have seen this place for years, read reviews - but passedIt by. We finally decided this year to stop in and see why everyone gave it high marks..well… I think we waited too long and that ship has sailed.. sorry, Ciao Daddy…I do hope you find your captain soon?

Kinda skimpy on fish tacos...Bring back the Grouper fish taco! My pics below are from 3 years ago. Excellent customer service but food is C+ in 2022, was A+ in 2019.

I can only assume that there was no manager present when we ate there Sunday June 20th. I was going to do a pro/con review but I can’t even think of a pro. We were seated in the back room we’re there were 3 tables 2 for 8 people and 1 for 6. Each table had its own waiter! No one thought, “people would get better service if one person had this station.” Nope. Each waiter had a station outside of that room as well as their one table in the room. And when said waiter refilled water at their table it never occurred to them to check the other tables to see if they needed water, which we did because our waiter was busy in the other room so we couldn’t get his attention. There were no bus boys so the table just accumulated dishes, or waiter consistently left our table empty handed. I could go on. The food. All I can say is gross. The cornbread was fried, burnt to a crisp. The menu did not say it was fried. The Mexican corn was basically a quarter of a cup only enough for one person. The Hot Bowls were loaded with Kale, even if they didn’t mention the kale in the description and when I say loaded I’m not kidding. Some got the fried chicken sandwich which I think was okay but the fries were soooo salty. Suffice it to say in our party of 8 only two people enjoyed their food, and even they said 2 stars. There is so much more to say but if that isn’t enough to tell you “don’t do it” I don’t know what is.

We really enjoyed the friendly server, the nachos, and fish tacos. The burgers were huge, well cooked and delicious! The outdoor dining arrangement was so relaxed and ideal for our large group with teenagers.

Kat made our dining experience so wonderful. Food was great, but service is what made the night. All of her recommendations were delicious.

We had a great experience at Chow daddy’s! Great atmosphere, great food, and our server Kat P was phenomenal!! Will definitely be back!
