Great service. We ordered the mahi salad, blackened mahi salad, bbq turkey burger. Appetizer was Carolina Firecracker balls. Mahi was amazing! I was brought a southwest burger, it was ok, however, but not what I ordered. He corrected right away. We also ordered Shrimp lobster soup. Not what we were expecting. Our waiter took that off our bill, sick l which was so nice.
First time and last time.I ordered a sesame teriyaki chicken..so the top from the chicken with the sesame was burned. I ask the waitress..she said this is normally ??..ok..really?? Maby I'm wrong but I know this in a other way.. the sesamy is never black/burned.The clam chowder soup wasn't like I had this many times before...taste weird.
Fish tacos were very runny, chicken tacos had very little flavor. Burger and fries were good. Sodas had very little carbonation. I really wanted to like this place, good atmosphere and the service was decent, not great. Sorry, cant recommend it and won't try it again.
Omg their atmosphere is top tier and don’t even get me started on the Ahi Tuna Wontons! Omg so fresh and amazing! I loved it!PS Andy is the best bartender on Hilton Head Island
Worst experience on our vacation at HHI. And, worst restaurant experience. Food was dry and no seasoning. Got food poisoning! Service was horrible. Waitress acted as if she didn’t want to serve us or be there. Never got refills or asked if food was okay after served. I would not recommend. I’d recommend Chow daddy, SandBar, the crazy crab, and frosty frog.
After the first restaurant we went to had a line out the door, we checked this place out on a whim and were pleasantly surprised by the menu. It was nice to find a place that wasn’t all fried food and came with actual vegetables. The Mahi Mahi Hang Ten plate was delicious, some of the best Mahi Mahi I’ve had.
Walking down the street we heard the music and thought what the heck, let’s stop in and grab a bite and a cold one. Service was acceptable and attentive. We had the local chowder, a salad with mahi, a burger and chicken tacos. The food was okay, nothing special. The mahi was wafer thin but tasty. The tacos were thrown together but “ok” per our adult son. The margaritas on the other hand lacked any hint of alcohol and were sub-par. The duo singing and playing the guitar helped to liven the place and drive some foot traffic to the restaurant. Overall, the food and drinks lacked substance and despite the live music we would not return.
Another rate five stars, and Big Bamboo earned it! From the incredibly entertaining and attentive waiter, to the management and bat staff-- a real pleasure for lunch. And my Will Caesar salad with blackened mahi was outstanding! The decor was also really cool without being overly ridiculous or cheesy-- WWII-themed pacific Islands bar. Reminded me of the ABC series, Tales of the Golden Monkey. Childhood memories... Well done!
Great atmosphere, live music all the time, and the inside feels like a tiki hut. Fast service, but a bit pricey for the amount of food they serve. Chicken and Shrimp tacos were still delicious!
The food is so good. Very enjoyable atmosphere with live music. Highly recommend. This is a must go to while visiting the island!!
