We had a reservation for fathers day and the staff was friendly and the food and drinks were awesome! Great job and great food !! Bloody Mary's were Amazing!! (With tequila instead of vodka!! Thank you woodside bistro, we will definitely be back .Erin is Amazing!
A compilation of the two trips it took to have one lunch at Woodside Bistro. A few weeks back we tried for a Friday lunch and pulled up to find the place locked up- no sign, just closed. Called to make sure they were open this time, and the person said they’re “never closed on Friday unless we run out of food”. So, it’s one thing to cause an inconvenience, and another to deny it. Today’s visit would have been four stars on its own. I had the French Dip (Braised Short Rib, Caramelized Onions, HavartiCheese, A1 Aioli, Grilled Hoagie- $16) because I’d heard from several folks how good it is. Meat was cooked perfectly, juicy and quite flavorful. Beware if you don’t like a lot of sodium, the au jus is quite salty. Both of my colleagues had the Club Salad (Ham, Turkey, Boiled Egg, Bacon, Cucumber,Tomato, Cheddar Cheese- $18), one with iceberg lettuce due to a spinach sensitivity. He commented that the quantity of protein was half of what it had been on a previous visit. The restaurant is located on the back side of the mill, with parking on both sides, but not immediately adjacent to the restaurant. We’ll certainly be back to give it another go.
Excellent food and service! Their salads and fried catfish are incredible. The only improvement to be made is to make it less noisy in the inside dining area.
We went for our second visit on a Saturday for a late lunch. We didn't realize the menu would be different, but it was fine. Saturday and Sunday afternoon was the brunch menu. Disappointed that we couldn't get the delicious fried green tomatoes, but next time. Someone at the table got the chicken and waffles. Although I didn't taste it, it looked yummy. I got the burger with a fried egg (also a bunch item.) Cooked perfectly and with a very unique bun. Although it's delicious, the Old Fashioned on tap is very strong. (That's not a bad thing, I suppose. Lol)The menu is a bit small and unique but this place is definitely worth a visit....and a return visit!Oh, and the staff is amazing!
Okay I've never had Brussel sprouts I've really liked before. Until last night. These were awesome, and everything else was fantastically delicious. Half chicken, and shrimp and grits with a she-crab-esque style sauce. The Jamaican jerk pork sandwich is SO GOOD, and we have loved everything we've tried so far. It was a perfect evening to eat outside.
We did not have a great experience here. We came late night like after 8pm and the place wasn't horribly busy but the service was slow and really bad. We had to ask for a menu after waiting over 10 mins and then we asked a question about the daily special that took well over another 10 mins to get an answer. The food itself was good to great. The fried green tomatoes appetizer was delicious, the shrimp and grits were very good, the Mac and cheese was bland, the fried shrimp and catfish were tasty and the drinks were good. Not sure if we would give this place a second chance based on the mostly averagely good food and horrible service.
The food & the service are both always on point!
Fabulous brunch and ambiance! We loved the shrimp and grits and pesto chicken…delicious! The choice of beers, wines and cocktails are excellent. I loved the house made (non alcoholic) ginger soda. The old mill location is clean and crisp with beautiful art on the walls for purchase. Excellent service and meal, can’t wait to come back!
Came for lunch during the workday. It's in a neat spot in a developing area right next to the old Woodside Mill.I had the Short Rib French dip sandwich which was absolute dynamite - best french dip I've had in years.Friendly workers, kind of a young hipster vibe to clientele which fit the location. I will be back for that french dip soon.
Welcoming staff, wonderful atmosphere, great food, tasty cocktails and very clean. Will definitely go back next time we’re in the area.
