So good selection of drinks and beers excellent really. I have to admit I'm picky about my whiskey do was really happy to find they had a good selection and found a new favorite. I loved the charcuterie board it actually was spot on to have with drinks and pretty darn filling. I enjoyed our waitress she was ON POINT. Very lovely, attentive and not over bearing. But made sure to stop by and checkup on us. The water you get in a glass bottle is really good and a nice way to welcome guest. The atmosphere is really good but I will warn this seems to be bordering on being a family ish establishment. Being we went on a Friday at almost 8 i was surprised to see infants and young kids. And yes they were being fussy/noisy, then again if I was a infant having to wait to eat dinner late at night I'd be fussy too.Now the entree menu is a bit limited, the steak is really good and the choice of mayo they make was actually nice. I enjoyed all the ones we picked out. There house tarter sauce was delicious. But the fish and chips, the fried cod was too thick. It made for a odd eat and wasn't as good as if hope. But still ok. Neat place to grab a bite!
Great basement atmosphere. Fun bar. Super tasty food. Loved the meatballs! Get a reservation because it’s packed.
First off all the food we tried was delicious. We loved the Brussel's salad and short rib. The beer selection is awesome and felt like I was back grabbing a drink in Europe. Definitely will have to make a reservation. Or your likely to have to wait for 60-75 mins. The bar is first come first serve but it does fill up quickly. Love visiting Trappe Door
This place is amazing!!! Hands down best steak I’ve eaten in years!!! If ever!!!! Our waiter (Elijah) was knowledgable of menu knew how to explain and help me pick out food, drinks and dessert! He went above and beyond for our special needs son , was patient to allow him to ask for what he wanted and was on top of all our drink refills . Definitely was a great pick for dinner. If you are visiting Greenville, want a nice date night , or just want great food try this place!!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!! Thanks for a wonderful experience for our first visit to Greenville!!! The Brie to start is a must!!!!!
If you dropped in to this place in a small town in Belgium it would rate OK. But, solely from a food perspective, it’s not that authentic. And you’d know this if you ever spent time in Belgium. Almost all the food our group of four had was over seasoned; scallops (over powered the scallop), steak (too much seasoning), fries (we felt our arteries hardening from the salt), beef beer stew (too much black pepper), seafood wazooi (stock ingredients over powered the seafood) …. Now, nothing was terrible, and most of the food was eaten. But this is not a great example of ‘top quality’ Belgium/Flemish food, it has definitely been adapted for American taste. The atmosphere, the service, beer/drink selection were all excellent, just don’t go thinking it will remind you of the food you tasted when you were in Belgium, it will not.
This place has pretty good food and always lively. I like the environment but it definitely has VERY slow service. Even when I make a reservation, there's always a wait for my table, an even longer wait for my food (last time I waited over an hour), and a long wait just for the check. They do have a very long list of European beers that you can't find anywhere else. The fries, when they're actually fresh, are good. But, like I said, most of the time you are just sitting around sipping on your first beer for an hour because nobody bothers to come by and ask you for another before your food that's also clearly been sitting around finally gets delivered to your table.
Trappe Door is a longtime favorite. Lately, the service has not been up to its usual standard. Tonight I called in a takeout order. Was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. I asked if I needed to come inside and was told to park in loading zone on adjacent street and call. Phone was busy for over ten minutes. Loading zone was full. Finally found a spot to park. Phone still busy. Went inside and had to wait fifteen more minutes for food. I suggested to hostess that her phone was off the hook. She pulled it from her pocket and realized it was turned on. She looked at me and walked away. No one apologized for the extended wait nor even said thank you for my order. First time I have not tipped 20% on takeout since the pandemic began. Time to take a pause from Trappe Door.
Enjoy the Brie appetizer, it feeds 4! Our table of 4 enjoyed our appetizers, main courses and each had a different Belgian beer. The Salmon was excellent as was the Mussels. A fun night and worth a repeat visit
Absolutely loved the Flemish onion soup. Everything I try is wonderful discovery of new flavors. A must to go and experience.
Awesome service and flavorful food. Duck breast and mussels were great. Extensive list of Belgian brews.Underground cellar environment which is cool and unique
