The Westin Poinsett is a place that values customer service throughout the hotel. Franchette at the Front Desk greeted us with a bright cheerful smile upon arrival. She was engaging, kind and she absolutely kickstarted our vacation! During our check in we had the pleasure to speak with Patrice. She was equally as kind, courteous and showed genuine interest in why we were visiting. Together, the made us feel even more excited for our vacation. It was as if our exhaustion from our long travels just disappeared! That is customer service at its finest. Later that day we went to grab a glass of champagne at the piano bar not knowing we would walk away with our hearts full! We met an absolute gem, Ms. Sylvia. Sylvia exemplified a combination of warmth, down-to-Earth charm, and goodwill. To have the ability to touch one’s heart in such a small about of time is truly a special gift. Thank you, Sylvia! During our visit with Sylvia, we encountered two friendly service professionals that are worth mentioning! Lakota wiping the tables down and Kate (I believe that is her name) who I think was another bartender or server. They checked in on us when Sylvia had to step away for a moment. They both were friendly and engaging. They did not have to go out of their way to check on us as we were not in their section. That is 5 star service! The next morning I had the pleasure of speaking to Francis on the phone. To impact a guest over the phone is tough but Francis knew how to make me feel like she was smiling through the phone. I felt comfortable calling her back for additional questions as she never made me feel like an inconvenience. There is no substitute for interactions that make guest feel genuinely welcomed, appropriated, and feel taken care of.
My most favorite place to stay. The Westin Poinsett is my happy happy place.
Let me preface this first… this hotel is TOP NOTCH!!! I am big fan of great customer service, and this hotel EMBODIES it! From Chaz (and all the other valet and bellman), to Patresse at the front desk, to Janice in Concierge and Katie in the restaurant/room service and even Fabian, the General Manager. My twin sister (Jennifer Livingston) and I stayed here July 15-18, 2022 to celebrate each other as we both had recently completed a 75 Day mental discipline program. I live in locally in Greer, and she came in town from Wilmington, NC for us to spend 3 nights/4 days together. The Westin is not only staffed with some incredible people, but it’s located on Main Street where we walked many miles (for both pleasure and exercise), showed my sister downtown, ate, and did the obligatory “pet” of every dog that walked by us and chatting up complete strangers and say hi! Being that I have a recent background in the hospitality industry and Jennifer being a Director for Chick-fil-A, we were blown away from the moment that we arrived. Special shout out to Janice (Concierge) for her heartfelt note and special gift surprising us both for breakfast that Saturday (see picture). She made our day everyday we saw her! To Fabian, your team is incredible. I was on the “giving end” of hospitality for over 10 years, and to be on the “receiving end” in the manner that you team executed, was 100% a breath of fresh air!!! Thank You Westin Poinsette Team for making it a memorable weekend for us!!! Jessica Kenny
We chose the Westin Poinsett because of its top-rating on TripAdvisor and for its convenient location. The room is very clean and quiet, and the beds are most comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the top-rated breakfast spot in Greenville is located here in the Westin Poinsett. What impressed us most is the service! The front desk is most accommodating (including Sylvia, Jeffrey, Rachel, and others). We want to say a special thank you to Mike. While we were waiting for confirmation that our "early check-in" room was available, we dropped off our luggage assuming it would be held in a back room. Shortly after, upon receiving word that our room was ready, we discovered that Mike had taken the initiative to find out what room we were being assigned and then took our luggage up to our room on the 11th floor! That is definitely above and beyond what we would have expected. We have already made a reservation for our next visit to the Westin Poinsett! Highly recommended!
I recently stayed at the hotel for a meeting. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The food that was served throughout the meeting was excellent. Another plus was the location of the hotel. It was right on Main Street where there are various restaurants and shops along the street.
My husband and I came here for a long weekend and the hotel is great. It was in the perfect location, very easy walk to restaurants and shops. The room was comfortable and clean and we would highly recommend the Westin to anyone traveling to the area.
Loved our stay at the Westin. You have the historic charm but also very well maintained and clean. We met Will Cain at the front desk and he was so nice and personable. Beds were comfortable and our room had a great view overlooking main street. Perfect location to walk to everything we wanted to do and see. We celebrated our anniversary and they sent up a tray and had written note for the occasion. Southern hospitality at it's best.
We chose this hotel because of its close location to the Peace Center. Our show let out at 10:15 and we returned to the hotel and headed for the piano bar, which is advertised to be open until midnight. Well, everything in the hotel was already closed. No bar and no food at 10:15 on a Saturday night. Definitely not the place to stay if you are looking for any kind of nightlife. Rooms and hotel are nice, just need to be updated.
I have regularly sent business travelers to the Westin Poinsett. It is a beautiful and historic property, that provides impeccable service. But this review is about the people that work there - people with compassion, people who represent the Westin brand well. Thursday evening I was attending a dinner and theatre event with neighborhood friends. One of our party unfortunately took a tumble in the parking garage on our way to the restaurant inside the Westin. Our elderly friend had a large gash on her forehead and was actively bleeding. We got her into the Westin where we were met with extremely kind and compassionate staff. Although the lobby was crowded with an event, a kind woman rushed to our aid. Janice Smith, the Guest Services Manager and Concierge coordinated assistance for us, and took tender care of our dear friend. Janice stayed with us while we waited for one of our party to bring her car to the hotel door, and provided information on the closest emergency clinic. Other staff members had come with ice pack and first aid supplies to help care for our friend. The lobby was crazy busy but this group of super women focused all of their attention on any injured stranger. Janice Smith was truly amazing, kind, and Westin is blessed to have her, What an amazing ambassador for their brand. I am blessed to live in a city where people respond in this way, and i am grateful for the kindness of Ms. Smith. Thank you Westin for serving our city. We appreciate you.
Before our arrival, we called for the concierge. On the call, Janice was interested and engaged in providing excellent recommendations. When we met with her at our arrival, she was delightful and most helpful. She captured an excellent table for us that evening and made fun recommendations for the rest of our weekend. She made for a memorable and delightful stay at the Westin and in Greenville.
