As one of the closest eating establishments from the house, I must be truly blessed! Went in for the first time last night and was pretty blown away. I believe this will fast become my favorite place! We were waited on by Laurie the General Manager and she graciously went over the menu with us. We started off with the Irish Nachos, never had nachos served over home cut potato fries topped with house hot sauce and I am hear to tell you it was incredibly delicious! La Dona tried the monthly "special" watermelon salad with feta and mint, which was extremely good, other than the mint could have been a tad fresher. I had "The Japple" in a wrap with chicken, fresh jalapeños, granny smith apple slices, goat cheese and bacon and totally understand why this is a fan favorite! The bartender mixed perfect "old fashions" and we look forward to coming back to do brunch on Sunday! 5 stars! Highly recommend!
I was traveling through Greenville and a friend suggested eating here. I was in search of Gluten Free and Dairy Free menu items. I got a wonderful pinapple hard cider and chicken lettuce wraps. All was delicious and attention was paid to keeping things DF and GF. Thanks to the people at The Flat!
The Flat is a nice local bar. The food was very tasty and good portions. Beer and bar selections were okay.My wife liked the fried pickles so much I was only able to get a picture of the last one.
Got together with a group of friends for a cold drink and trivia to wash off workplace worries from the day. After arriving & ordering a beer, I was shocked to hear the bartender ask if I had a reservation for trivia. Though I appreciated his concern for my possible reservation, I was completely unaware this was even a thing. As a new customer, I felt an immediate favoritism to repeat customer (loyalty is great) but I felt like there was no warm greeting & hope to gain a new customer like me. The response I received after I nervously answered "no I do not have a reservation I was unaware it was needed" I was told "yeah we have people who have been coming for 7-8 years."The reality is those repeat customers were once new and the Flat website encourages new patrons to come out for trivia but I feel like that certainly didn't match the actions tonight. We were given a table but I felt like they wanted us to know they did us a favor by doing that. It just did not sit well with me.Being just moved here a few years ago, I like the feel of local spots rather than some sports bar chain. The draw to those is that you feel welcomed. This place does not match that.Take this review with a grain of salt and shot of tequila that if you're not a repeat/loyal customer, you are not welcomed.
Generally enjoy the bar, we go there most Tuesdays for trivia and we showed up an hour before trivia and they had all the tables reserved to where we couldn’t even eat. There were only two tables in the entire restaurant that didn’t have reservations. I don’t agree with shutting down the restaurant for people that might call in and possibly not show up when you have good customers waiting to spend money. The entire place was empty with reservation stickers on top of the table for a trivia night.
Great service, amazing food, and beer, what more could you ask for in a good local bar. I stopped in for lunch today with my husband. We both ordered burgers which in my opinion are what they do best. We grabbed some fried pickles as well, don’t let the color fool you, they are amazing. The habanero ranch is so good and packs a punch with the spice. My husband ordered The Good Habit with onion rings. He added bacon and loved it. I got the Red and Blue burger which was really good but I had a hard time finishing it just because of the spice level. So beware! This one is definitely spicy.Service is great with one person running the bar and tables. He's super friendly and works quickly. Don't overlook the Flat, they makes some really great food.
Our first visit.. great atmosphere. They have at least 5 TV's.. nice sit down bar area.. friendly staff.. Outstanding burgers, cooked to perfection.. they serve a lot morethan hamburgers.. check them out sometime.
The service was great, the food was delicious. The batter on the onion rings was light and crunchy, really good. They had a nice selection of beers mostly IPA's.
Food was very well cooked. My fried pickles were awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I did not like my drink but that is strictly a personal thing. I will be going back lots more to try every burger on that menu.
First time trying this place and i ordered a hot&blue burger but I substituted the mushrooms with a grilled pineapple. I ordered to go and when I picked up my order and took the first bite I noticed it was bloody. So i called back and they offered to make me another one. While I waited for the new burger I inspected the burger further and it was just plain ol’ RAW like right beneath the outside straight raw meat. I went inside finally to pick up my order and informed the bartender as well as showing him and he was very apologetic and offered to make me another set of fries but I declined, the raw burger had kind of turned me off. Tried the next burger was delicious but was now missing the grilled pineapple in it…? I decided to just leave it alone but if you pick up an order to go please double check before hitting the road just in case. The bartender was very helpful!
