I had such a great experience having lunch at Smoky Dreams! The brisket was amazing and they have a great variety of sauces. On top of the great food, I received some of the best customer service I've ever had. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and kind. Highly recommend!
I honestly hate giving this a bad review. The q is great and the staff are always so nice. So why give it a bad review??? The first time we gave them a try was late last fall after hiking. We were starving and hit the drive thru. They close at 7 and we were there at 630. When we got home and opened up our containers we were shocked at the portions especially given the fact we spent over $30. But I chalked it up to how late we arrived. Second time was a few months ago and I chalked it up to shortages. So today after working half a day, running errands, and taking my dog to Joanne's fabric to flirt with the girls, I was starving. I decided I would give them one more try. I ordered half a pork plate for me with beans. For my hubby a full pork plate with beans and slaw. I also ordered 2 slices of peanut butter pie. It was again well over $30. They fo not have any fried sides such as fries, hushpuppies, or onion rings. This was hours before closing. We got home and I unpack the boxes and decided this would be the last time I stopped by. My portion of pork was maybe the size of an ice cream scoop and hubby didn't have much more. We had buns here and it didn't cover the buns without it being a thin layer. There were maybe 2 spoon fulls of beans and slaw. And you don't get bread. And the pie was tiny. I have a medical condition that causes me get full very quickly. I normally can't eat but half a meal. I always bring home leftovers. I not only ate the whole thing and my pie. But had to go to the grocery store and get a pizza because we were so hungry. As great as the food is and they have a wonderful staff. It doesn't justify the portion you get given how much they charge. There are several other BBQ restaurants nearby charging less with bigger portions including an awesome BBQ buffet. They need to either increase their portions or lower their prices. Until then there will not be a visit #4.
The bbq here is amazing! Love bbq but to me what makes it much better is if the sides are good too. And let me tell you they are my friends. The family that owns this restaurant are very good people too and the service is good. Great family Great restaurant. Highly recommend ?
Went at closing and ordered brisket and ribs. Out of ribs. Brisket was cooked perfect. Excellent smoke, very juicy. Sides were very good, but it's hard mess up baked beans and slaw. Large portions, hope it's not because they were closing. 45 minutes from my house, but will go earlier and try rest of menu.
So all I've heard is good things about this place and the food is slap your mama good! I especially loved the hot vinegar sauce on the pulled pork. We got two family packs for an event. The sides were delicious (baked beans, sweet potato casserole, and green beans. I can't say about the slaw because they accidentally left it out of our bag, but things do happen.)I would highly recommend their restaurant. You have to trust a barbecue restaurant that cooks their meat with the stacks of wood outside.
I want to give this restaurant another try. I am thinking that perhaps time of day that we went was the reason that the ribs were quite dry.We arrived just after 6pm. The line wasn't long but the cashier taking the orders, although quite nice was slow to take the ordersMy meal came with my father's baked beans sideThe vinegar sauce was quite good and the sweet potato crunch, very delicious.We will give this place another try this summer. Hoping for a better experience.
Ok, huge fan. Family-friendly. Inside and outside dining. Music. I literally watched them bring purified water to a pup outside. BEST BBQ in the Upstate. Not greasy at all, sides are homemade, sauces are homemade (they say try mixing them & ????, although you don’t need it on the meat it’s soooo good.) They have a variety of things and definitely will visit sometime again very soon with friends and family. Friends say go early because they run out sometimes. Just. All the yes. ?
I haven’t even left the dining room but I had to immediately jump on here and review because…. My Gosh. Absolutely incredible. I don’t even have the words to really describe the pork because it’s THAT good. This place is pretty expensive but it’s worth every penny and was 100% worth the drive from Asheville. I wish I had samples more of their sauces though! We will definitely be back to try the brisket.
Great brisket. I've been here 3 times now and it's been very good everytime. The brisket is very juicy and tender, and I don't put any sauce on it cause it's so flavourful. Excellent service and very friendly. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because the mac n cheese is pretty bad. It seems like it's been sitting under a warmer for hours. But all the other sides are great. And the other reason is because their only open wed-sat. I can understand Monday and Tuesday because those are normally the slowest days in the restaurant business. But closed on Sunday pretty much sucks. Wish I could do 4.5 stars cause honestly this place is great.
Great tasting food and friendly service. The boys in the kitchen seemed like they were enjoying themselves even while hard at work. My wife and I got pulled pork platers which both had generous portions with great Smokey flavor. Can’t wait for our next visit.
