Chef always has some nice specials as well as the great low country shrimp and grits. Delicious scallop dish. Good drinks.
I was disappointed not being able to order from menu. I had looked at brunch menu. Did not realize it was buffet. Seemed messy and unclean. Had to ask who waiter was. Was not told about made to order eggs. Very poor value. Definitely not with $25. Was trying to impress someone from out of town. Failed at that!
Always an awesome experience . Bring a group in about once a month and always pleased .
The waiter did his best, but had too many tables which led to mediocre service.
Online doesnât state they only do buffet on Sunday. Makes it seem like you can order from the menu as well. Not very good buffet for $25 a person.
After 3 or 4 excellent times at Roost we hit a big disappointment, discovering that Roost cannot handle a party of twelve - not our party (only 3). The party itself was fine - quiet and happy, but their presence sucked all the staff into the vortex, leaving no service - no water refills, no checking on the meal, slow on the to-go box, etc (we saw our waiter twice through the entire meal). The manager stepped up to pick up the slack, but from the maitre'd trying to seat us in the cacophonous bar area to the lack of any attention from our waiter, it was Roost's first big blunder for us. We'll give it another shot, though - the food is fantastic. And even with Jerry & the Atrics blasting away outside, the place is very quiet (in the normal seating area; not in the bar area).
The food was very good. They don't take reservations for the outside patio, and said it is first come, first served. I made an indoor reservation and asked for a patio rable when I got there. I saw a few open, but had to remind them what they said. It worked out in the end.
The BLT was a inedible-bacon so hard you couldnât chew it.
We sat outside, watched people pass by and enjoyed our meal. Service was great. Scallops were delicious and the gumbo had a good kick to it. Will try it again.
It has been some time since I'd been to Roost. Outdoor seating and food were great just as I remember it.
