GRAIN OF SALT review; So my husband loved this place he loves pianos, plays himseld and is more of a extrovert then I am. I am a introvert and enjoy quiet speak easy bookish kind of places. So while I enjoyed people watching this was definitely more of college place or reliving your youth kind of bar.The atmosphere is loud and outgoing and more for groups. Which is obvious from the group tables located at the front of the establishment and who got the mass majority of attention. (If you sit at the bar or one of the back tables you'll be ignored take that for what you will and use it as you may) The drinks aren't great no good selection of liquor just basic almost college tilted kind of drinks. If you are into fish bowls or jelly shot syringes this is your place. If you want a good whiskey on the rocks walk away! It's a mixed drink kind of bar not a good/high end liquor location.Service is excellent the bartenders are A+ and do their best to get everyone up and jamming. Or be attentive to the customer they will absolute jump on getting you what you order! The music is "Meh" very 80s and 90s BUT then again if you like that then it'd be rocking on. I tried to request a song but will be the first to admit social anxiety means I got my money and slip of paper onto the piano itself but I think you're suppose to give it directly to the pianist.I'd suggest this place to a younger crowd 20s maybe early 30s or a wedding party where they want to show grandma or aunts good times. It isnt raunchy though they do have some adult themed fun. But it's a preference of taste, I would suggest maybe including patrons other then the obvious groups since I noticed others leaving or being kind of stiff at not being included. There is a $5 cover charge I wish I had known about prior to showing up at the door. And in the term of dueling from other places I have been this place isn't that. More dinner, drinks and a show.
Loved the music and the atmosphere but will not be going back. We ordered a fishbowl drink and a diet soda and paid with 2 20 dollar bills, we also asked that we get our change back. We like to decide on the tip ourselves. The waitress did not return the change and we did'nt see her again that night. That's 40 dollars for a soda and a drink. Watch your money in this place. I have read other reviews where people had this kind of trouble with credit card payments which is why we wanted to pay in cash.
Always a good time here
If you like to sing, have fun, drink, and be silly this is the place for you. The stage talent this evening was amazing. We sang along and had a few drinks. Recommend.
Tried to give this place another chance. The owner is rude and does not know how to efficiently run a bar. If you don’t think he’s rude, read his responses on some of these reviews. We had a group of 18. He split us and the bartender said we couldn’t order unless we sat down. Again, inefficient. His servers are great and jasmine worked very hard to keep us having fun. She was FANTASTIC and we tipped her well because she can’t control the behavior of the guy that cuts her checks. All 18 of us left within an hour of being there. Greenville is great, but this bar is not.
So much fun! Great talent! Very entertaining and interactive! Very weak drinks though! They certainly do not pour heavy! Dinner was so freaking delicious! Definitely recommend trying the burger or fried chicken sandwich! Nom nom!
Denied a booth on a dead quiet night for an engagement party. Not reserved by other parties or set by a $ limit (could not answer why we couldn’t be seated besides “we need to fill the front”) How does one get a booth? We’re a reasonable bunch - tell us how to reserve or what the spending requirement is and we’ll make a decision…. But a faceless blanket no at one of our favorite bars really negated plenty of positive previous visits. Not getting our cover back didn’t help either. Shuffled out of there ignominiously.Only hope is that the owner will provide some better communication to patrons in the future - lots of lost business if not. Great place, real shame
Came in November with a party of 5. We had friends in town visiting and this was a staple we would show off... Not this time. We were denied a booth even though no one was sitting, and manager did not come out to speak to us after three of us ask for management. We asked for our cover back after walking in and being unsatisfied and they refused. We still decided to leave based off poor customer service. I really can't believe that management wouldn't accomodate an easy request when the place was empty. And let alone would not even talk to us in person. Very poor customer service. Can't comment on the quality of music as we left before music played.
Terrible customer service. Was promised a booth and then denied it even though all 5 booths were available. Manager refused to discuss. We were denied the return of our cover charge even though we were only there 5 minutes and did not order any drinks. We visit often and spend a lot bit will not be returning or visiting visitors as we used to. SAD!
Fun place. Very entertaining. Did not have food. Drinks were reasonably priced.
