My dad and kids wanted some seafood and this place was close by. My dad ordered a pound of the peel and eat shrimp and they were decent. Nothing to jump up and down about. My seafood platter was good. The deviled crab was alright. The kids liked their shrimp. The fried mushroom appetizer was really good and even my daughter who doesn't like mushrooms had one and liked it.
Wow! My parents and I were visiting family in Greenville over the weekend and with it also being fathers day weekend, dads request was to go out to dinner with two of his favorite girls. We ended up at Harbor Inn because the steak restaurant we initially went to had a very long hour and a half wait and we had passed it on our way and decided on it. So glad we ended up here.Brandon, our server, was amazing, very honest and sweet. He did a wonderful job although he was out of his comfort zone, because he said he is usually a cashier. My family and I think he needs to be permanent on the floor! He's very personable and provides a comfortable experience. That level and kind of service is rare these days. The food was great! The portions are huge! So bring your appetite and prepare your doggie bag.The restaurant itself is humongous inside, so I doubt you will have to worry about reservations or waiting. Plenty of dinners came in while we were there and were seated immediately, regardless of group size. Overall dad was very happy and thoroughly enjoyed his meal and the service. My family and I are anxious to return on our next visit to Greenville.
There are so many restaurants to choose from in this area, don't waste your time on this junk hole. We were seated immediately and waited 15/20 minutes. No one ever even offered to get our drinks or take our order. The families that came in after us were served as soon as they came in. Thankfully we didn't waste our money here and went somewhere else where our money was appreciated and well deserved.
Food was good, everything else tasted funny. I asked for a fresh ketchup because the label on the bottle looked old like it had been refilled several times. She handed me one that looked just as bad. Good fresh condiments are important to me.
For the past ten years or more Harbor Inn was our go to for great Seafood. But not anymore. The Cajun substituted freshly breaded shrimp for frozen breaded shrimp yuck. The flounder and Black pepper catfish was mushy and tasteless. The ONLY hint of the good old Harbor Inn we could find was the Ranch dressing and Saltine Crackers. The hush puppies were bland also. I hate to say we won’t be back. Silver Bay here we come and leave the Cajun out…except for the French fries. The Cajun fries were the only thing we ate.
Would definitely be back. The food was very good. I had the catfish po boy. The Red Velvet Cheesecake Cake is delicious. I enjoyed all my food. Very reasonable prices.
Alison may represent the friendliest and best service I have had on my 2 week trip in the Carolina’s. 5 stars for Alison. Food was plentiful and price was more reasonable than other “fish camps” I frequent. I had to take one star because the clam strips and fried shrimp are heavily breaded, which isn’t usually the case. But for the money, probably an understandable trade off. I just love the lightly breaded, mostly fish experience that is usually considered calabash style.
I haven't been to Harbor Inn in ages. The visit today was not the experience that I've had before. I ordered takeout. The fried combination plate. I got one piece of greasy, mushy catfish, and 4 pieces of jumbo shrimp for $18 and change. The shrimp and fries were not fresh even though I waited. The cocktail sauce (smelled and tasted like ketchup) and tartar sauce were obviously the cheap pre-made, bottled stuff. Yuck. I ate the 6 hush puppies and tossed $20 bucks in the trash, basically.
The food was amazing. Leigh Ann, our server was super helpful with the menu since it was our first visit. She is a credit to the restaurant. Everything we ordered was exactly to our specifications and fresh. We have found a new favourite seafood restaurant. This is just the first of many visits! 5 Stars!
Harbor Inn Cajun Seafood is a wonderful place to eat. Their food is exceptional along with the best priced seafood in Greenville. The staff is excellent, I suggest sitting in Allison S. station as she is phenomenal! I have included photos of their everything cake. 1 slice is large enough for 4 people & plenty of that piece leftover to take home.PS, I keep trying to steal Allison & get her to come work with me! Yes, she is that good.
