This restaurant is a true gem. Located right on the river in downtown Greenville. The first impression when we walked in the door was we are not only going to enjoy the food, we enjoyed the live music and the overall atmosphere. The food was cooked perfectly and prepared just like each of us asked for. The waitress was very knowledgeable and made several great recommendations. If you are ever in downtown Greenville make this just must do dinner restaurant.
Ok, so drinks and sides were decent. Steak arrived well and I asked for medium. Returned it to be redone, after 5 minutes the manager brings it back with a flashlight, wanting me to look again. Seriously, eaten here multiple times and know medium. So, after another 15 minutes got the steak back when everyone else had finished. Also, had to ask 3 times for salt and ketchup for the fries. If you are charging $325 for a meal and $79 for a steak, it needs to be done correctly and service should be perfection. Wouldn’t go back again.
***This is the first time I've written a review for anything*** Halls was one of the best dining experiences I've had! I went with my girlfriend for her birthday and everyone on staff wished her a happy birthday and were extremely kind and accommodating. She ordered the flounder, which she said was yummy, but not exactly what she was craving. Our server, Christian, was beyond sweet about it and told her she should eat something that she is in love with since it's her birthday, so he suggested the salmon and the team at Halls swiftly swapped out her entree. The manager, although i cannot remember his name, checked in on us throughout dinner and was a sweetheart. I'm always hesitant about spending big bucks on a dinner, but this was absolutely worth it and I am already so excited to visit Halls again. Their steak is almost as incredible as their F&B team!
Everything is good quality. There seem to be 4 or 5 different servers per table. I think the overstaffing might be a contributor to the excessive pricing. If you want to be pampered then this place is for you. As for good food, you can get this or better at lower prices throughout town. It is a crowded place.
We went to Hall's and had a great dinner. The food is truly excellent, and the service was the best - attentive without being annoying. The setting is beautiful, and we had a nice table upstairs, which I would recommend. Much quieter and very pleasant. The wine prices are over the top and for as varied as the list is, there should be some more moderate selections in the $50 - 80 range to give a wider selection of price options. that is the only real negative comment I have. Overall, the dinner and evening was excellent.
Great food with excellent service. We both had the 8 oz. filet mignon, which was melt in your mouth special. Also, the creamed spinach and mushrooms. Memorable dinner. Extensive wine list: though many are very expensive, there are some choices that won't break your wallet. Would recommend the Januik merlot or the Mathews Cabrernet.
My husband and I ate here for the first time tonight. Everything about it was amazing!!! The service, the food, the atmosphere.. everything was top notch. There are a lot of staff and every single one of them went above and beyond to be friendly and welcoming. Our waiter Fredy was outstanding!!! We didn’t get an appetizer but they brought bread out immediately. We ordered the Brussels sprouts and lobster Mac and cheese for sides and they were both delicious! We shared the Tomahawk steak and were not disappointed! It was incredibly flavorful and the truffle butter was the perfect addition. We had the cookie/ice cream dessert and were absolutely delighted by how delicious it was! Everything we ate was wonderful but the service was truly unbeatable. Highly recommend!!!
If you’re looking for a good steakhouse in Greenville, then got to Halls. We love the one in Charleston so we wanted to try this location. This location is a lot bigger and newer. The service was top notch and the food did not disappoint. We also loved that there was live music to enjoy through dinner. We made the observation that Hall’s is one of the spots in town as well.
We dined here for Brunch based off of ratings on TripAdvisor. However I am not sure how they have such good reviews.. the food was severely underwhelming for the price. I had the chophouse omelet and grits and there was little to no flavor. My husband had biscuits and gravy which again was underwhelming and not up to par with the prices or atmosphere. The atmosphere was seen to be an upscale dining experience yet the waitresses were wearing very short skirts/shirts with fishnet type tights… the whole experience was very odd. We will no be back and would not recommend.
For Valentine’s Day dinner, we went to Hall’s! We were sat promptly at our reservation time and the service was beyond wonderful! We’ve been to Hall’s in Charleston and had a wonderful experience but hadn’t tried Greenville yet! Needless to say, we will certainly be back because Greenville Hall’s went above and beyond for us! We got the Valentine’s special and it was amazing! The floor manager came around and chatted with every table and gave us complimentary glasses of champagne since we recently got married. They had live music playing and the overall atmosphere was great! Highly recommend!
