Our family has been going to Golden Llama since it opened and we were pretty satisfied with the quality and service. This past weekend we went there to eat after a long time and the quality has diminished extremely. I ordered the normal, a "Ceviche mixto and a Papa a la Huncaina", it was the worst that I've ever had at a Peruvian Restaurant. THE FOOD WAS NOT FRESH, THE POTATOES WERE OLD AND THE CEVICHE WAS COMPLETELY DISTATEFUL! I think that they changed the owners/chef. I will definitely not go there again. The problem is that here in South Carolina people are too scared to voice out their opinion in regards to quality, but if this restaurant would be open for example, in Florida, it would have no business.
The food is so delicious! And the service is amazing! This was my first time going and I truly enjoyed my food experience! Delicious
Great Peruvian restaurant. Always kind, fast and fresh food. Their food reminds me of the time I traveled to Peru back in the day. Their aji de gallina, lomos saltados, ceviche and their fried fish dish is…..muah ?I recommend trying if you want a little taste of South America!
Always up to trying different ethnic foods and was really anticipating Peruvian cuisine. We tried a few different items here and weren't really impressed. Portions were a little small for the price. Food was kind of plain. Best part was the anticuchos (beef heart) appetizer. The place was kind of rundown, you collected your own food from the counter, and they charge for containers to take home leftovers.Like some others, my credit card was charged more than I authorized. Didn't notice until I came to review and read the others. Appears that the tip I left was upped to 25% and that's in addition to 4.3% for using a card. I wouldn't use a card at this place since this seems to be an issue for years.
Hidden gem alert. Greenville wake and support your Golden Llama amazing food and lady at the counter was friendly. I’ll be back.
We found this little gem a few years ago and they have yet to disappoint! I've never been to a Peruvian-specific restaurant before this place, but I am now a solid customer! This food is truly made with love, made to order, and made to fill you up, so come hungry. Try the Yuca and pair it with the garlic sauce.... AMAZING!
Never had a bad dish from this place. I've tried 90% of their menu and so far everything has been excellent. The staff is always really nice and provides good service. Highly recommend trying this place.
Wow! What a hidden gem! It was my first time trying Peruvian food. I loved it! I had a take on fish and chips. It had yuka potatoes, regular potatoes, fried fish, fried shrimp, and calamari..the sauce was so fresh and vibrant! My plate's presentation was beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I should have gotten an extra sauce to really saturate all the deliciousness on my plate. Its a little pricey, however they do give you large quantities on your plate.
I got the number 8, it was really good. My meat was tender and the fries were nice and crispy. I am attaching pictures, it didn’t look like a lot of food but after destroying the rice pyramid it actually was. I left very full. My combo wasn’t cheap, but they do have cheaper menu options like wraps/sandwiches for a quick lunch.
I have tried this restaurant numerous times and I have always been pleased. This last time I was disappointed by the service , the huancaina sauce and lomo saltado . The beef was over cooked , the huancaina was runny like they added way too much milk , and the counter gentleman had a horrible attitude. I love Peruvian food and I actually thought this was a good place before but the food quality is not the same for me.
