My wife and I have eaten birria tacos all over Greenville and we finally found our home. John that works the counter is really awesome and was great to chat with and hear how Califas started. We ordered 6 tacos which didn't think our kids would like and they ended up eating 4 1/2 of them. We ordered another 6 and enjoyed our dinner very much! The meat was so tender that it just fell apart in your mouth and the birria dip was phenomenal. Seasoned to perfection we will definitely be making this place a regular stop to get our birria fix. John's wife (not sure her name) knows what's up with the tacos and will have you leaving happy.

Outstanding food. The missus got the barria tacos and they were fantastic, I got the Hollywood rice bowl and it is amazing as well. Very nice restaurant, great food and friendly service. Can't get much better than this!
Califas is SO good! The owners and staff are super friendly and the food is amazing. I love the birria tacos. The California-themed menu is really fun and reminds me of home. The restaurant is spotless and my recent take-out order was hot and ready right on time. We will be back many, many times!
Everything I’ve had here is really tasty. This time I got the L.A.X. Dog and Traffic Jam Smothered Fries. The dog was good, but the fries were a standout. Can definitely feed two.
Takes the flavor you all know and love but Califa style. Generous portions, amazing food that will not break the bank tied in with a warm atmosphere will have you returning I am sure.
Ordered takeout. Everything was okay. But the best thing to me were the Traffic Jam Smothered Fries! I’d go back just for those alone! They were so delicious, fully loaded & flavorful! Everything I love on carne asada tacos, on top of fries! The birria tacos weren’t that great. The meat in the tacos was very chewy and not tender at all. The consommé had an overwhelming taste of cinnamon or allspice and lacking a lot of flavor that a birria consommé really has. They loaded churros were delicious as well, nothing really wrong in that area. 7/10 recommend.
Below expectations. I really appreciate what they are going for and I like their California twist on tacos and other handhelds. Unfortunately they have California prices too. In general I think you’re paying too much for what you get compared to some other great local places. I think lowering the prices or upping the portions would go a long way here.
Great family owned restaurant with bold flavors and HUGE portion sizes. The Birria tacos were good but I doctored the consume with lime juice, onion, and cilantro. These toppings are on their salsa bar which is my only complaint. I wish we had known we needed to purchase chips in order to try the salsa bar.Other than that we will be back to try more of the menu items!
