This was a decent place to eat, so we went back at 8:45 for a second taco. However, we were told that it was closed. We asked what time they close and they informed us that they close at 9:00. We asked if they always close early, and the gentleman at the counter shrugged his shoulders and walked away. The rest of the kitchen staff watched our entire exchange while actively eating what appeared to be left overs. The food was okay, but it was an awkward and uncomfortable situation. So if you want to eat here, be sure to put your order in early!
There is absolutely nothing special about this place. We were looking for some Austin style tacos and this is definitely not the place. Think of this joint as the Applebees of tacos. I really hate it because I reallllly wanted to like it, but it’s. Just. Freaking. Vanilla. Which seems to me is the SOP for this whole place on this side of town. Mom and dads coming here with their kids for a meal after tooling around outside. You can feed these people anything and they will eat it. Noting innovative here. Go elsewhere if you want a real taco. I guess I expect Greenville to be more than this , but at the end of the day the majority of people around here are not foodies. That bing said mediocre is the norm In “that Greenville”, so in this respect they hit the nail on the head.
Stopped in here with friends to try this out, the whole concept of the restaurants is really neat, it kind of has a mall food court vibe but nicer. There were several restaurants to pick from and we chose this one. Food was good, I think the portions were small for the price, our group really liked the Brussel sprouts, kids meals do not come with anything like fries or a side, that was a little disappointing. I’ll be back to check out the other restaurant options.
We ate at Automatic Taco this afternoon. Busy Sunday afternoon with 30min estimated wait time. Completely understandable with current staffing issues and beautiful weather. The product, however, was extremely disappointing. The queso fundido was inedible. Person in the back piled chips on the tray with his bare hand after coming in the back door. The “queso” was a mostly solidified, somewhat gelatinous glob of grease. The chips wouldn’t even break through the outer shell. Should have returned. Our mistake. The other two items were under whelming, as well. Additionally, the woman that took our order was short and condescending to my daughter when asked about chips or tortillas for the bowl of grease. No idea how this place has any positive reviews. We will not return.
Hands down best tacos in town! The veggie tacos and the Indian butter chicken taco is my favorite! What I love about Automatic Taco is that they make everything fresh, including the tortilla chips. The owner’s belief in best quality and freshness of food assures me that I am eating the best stuff in town! Try Automatic Taco. It won’t disappoint!
Loved the overall look & feel of this place. I got the Papa's Fritas & the chile relleno taco it was delicious! Would def recommend. The price point is surprisingly great! Will definitely visit again!
