I must say that this was not at all a good experience. I love Caribbean food and this is some of the worst tasting I’ve had in a while. The service was so so and the jerk chicken was tough and not an ounce of flavor. The place was kind of dirty and the server used every glass as an ice scooper. The cup I had for my water was dirty, baked beans tasted like pure unsweetened molasses, greens were decent. He did know how to make drinks but was behind the bar. Never offered a condiment, napkins were nowhere to be found. Bathroom door was tricky so anyone could walk into the single use facility. Not busy at all me and one guy getting a to go order so that’s why I don’t understand the filth. Price of my dish on the menu $13 at the register $22. Would not eat here again, actually left 70% of my food right there
Ordered the fried chicken. Made the mistake of not checking my order until I got home. Chicken was burnt! They even put an extra piece of chicken in my order but even that was burnt. Also, the red rice was cold and tough. Only the potato salad was good. Never again!
This was our first time here and the experience was horrible. We should have known when there was no one in there at 8pm on a Saturday. I ordered curry goat, jerk chicken, rice, collard greens and Mac. Everything was very bad. The coco bread was even gross it had some type of cinnamon and syrup on it like it was a pancake. The curry goat was tasteless and the jerk chicken must have been cooked, saved and microwaved to order because it was so hard and gross. I went to the restroom and there were roaches crawling all over. I will never return here.
I had the Curry chicken and it was great but the potato salad was fantastic. They make it with relish and it’s very light tasting. I would definitely eat here again. Good service.
Based on the 4+ star ratings. I apparently order the wrong item. I wasted $19.99+ because the jerk chicken was not edible. It was hard from probably being over smoked or it was just over cooked. It was so salty I threw the platter in the trash. Feel free to refund me if this is not how you do business. I'm sure you remember us. My wife brought up the fact that your register price doesn't match your menu price.
It was great, I had shrimp and grits and I forget what the others ordered, but they raved about their food. The two wan running the restaurant couldn't be any nicer. Our service was great. Prices, well they are fanominal. You would think you'd pay a lot more. My new favorite restaurant in this area.
I ordered Turkey wings with rice and macaroni and cheese smh My rice was old and hard and my macaroni was spoiled. I ordered my mother fish and shrimp with cabbage and cornbread smh I smelt the fish soon as I got it out the bag. Fried fish shouldn’t smell fishy and the shrimp was salty and I paid $41 and tipped. Never again
No island food in there, food had no flavor and dry turkey is a sin. The cornbread was dry the red rice was dry and tasteless, the Mac was tasteless. Only did a 2 star cause the shrimp was good and the pork chop was okay.. 1st n last time. Price was not reasonable for portion size. Please get a real west Indian cook. Staff is nice though!
1st time there. Ordered the jerk ckn and rice that came with 2 sides and the fish and grits. They also just started serving carribean fries (it had cheese, jalapeños, some kind of sauce and we got shrimp). The fries was Very good. The fish and grits was ehhh. The jerk chicken even though it was dry the flavor was very delicious. The rice was ok. Did have to wait on the sides to come out, but its cool. The people were very nice. The banana pudding and carmel leche was good. Prices are a little high for what you get.I will be willing to go back and give another shot
Second visit & we enjoyed both times! I had shrimp & rice w/gravy w/green beans & fried okra, & hubby had jerk chicken wrap w/red rice. This restaurant has a Caribbean/ Soul food kind of vibe, & we will go back again!
