Very nice diner atmosphere, friendly wait staff, the wife and I agreed the best omelets we ever had! Can't wait to try Alex's lunch, dinner and desserts.

This was my first time eating here, and I liked it a lot mainly because of the small-town atmosphere, and the money will stay in the pockets of local people. Everyone was so nice and friendly and the food was great, just like a small town restaurant.

The food is delicious!!! I truly enjoyed the fried fish, and my son enjoyed their hashbrowns. Looking forward to going back again.

Amazing food with amazing service!

My husband & I walked in, excited to try Alex's while in the area, based on their reviews. We were seated at the only remaining table, which happened to be near the door. A few minutes later, 2 young women of color (only sharing this for context-- NOT racial offense) walked in, asking to be seated. We overheard a waitress, whose name tag said "Angie", tell them it would be a 35 minute wait to be seated. The ladies said that would be fine, that they were willing to wait. Behind them, a man & woman couple (who appeared to be white) walked in. The waitress asked the young women to "please wait outside, so the door isn't blocked." She then took the names of the couple & told them it would be "a 10 to 15 minute wait". Wait-- what?! It was apparent to us that preferential treatment was being given to the man & woman.... and, that the 2 women were asked to step outside, so that they wouldn't hear the lower wait time that was conveyed to the couple. We decided we did NOT want to patronize an establishment that allows this practice, since Color does not determine a person's value. It's what comes from the HEART that defines a person, Not the "outer package." Haven't we had enough with divisions already? So, we got up & left.

The food was good and the atmosphere is nice.. I also wanted to let you guys know that I'm a Realtor in this area and I would love the opportunity to help you with your real estate needs. So, if you are looking to buy or sell a home in this area contact me. I could guide you through the process as your local expert.

My server was Ms. Ruby and she was very efficient. Food was hot, delicious, and the Sweet Tea was very good. My whole experience from start to finish was amazing. The location we ate at was the St. James Ave. In Goose Creek.

I absolutely cannot say enough good things about this place! My grandfather has been coming to Alex's for many years! Now that he is unable to get around hardly at all he ONLY goes to doctors appointments and Alex's outside of our home. He is ALWAYS treated like family and recently when I reached out to find some tshirts for him for Christmas one of his regular waitresses got back to me with a special gift for him. Alex's will ALWAYS be a part of our lives and is a hidden gem in Summerville that everyone must visit when you want to feel like your at home, enjoying a delicious meal in a true old South diner! Thank you so much Alex's for being such a beautiful part of our lives!!!!!

Our motto on vacations is "Try Not to Eat At The Same Places You Can Get At Home." So we are always looking for new places when we travel. This place was casual dining at its best. The staff was friendly and seemed to know just about everyone that came in during the time we were there. The food was good but not exceptional.

This is one my favorite restaurants. I have to work on Thanksgiving and I was able to have a thanksgiving meal with my family. Alex’s prepared ans served meals to all at no charge.
