I tried Peking Tokyo tonight for the first time. I was unimpressed by the food. Nothing really had much flavor - this included sesame chicken, general tso’s chicken, and chicken lo main. Nothing was bad, it just wasn’t GOOD.
The Good: very friendly staff, most food was great tasting, pricing is fair, large portions, quick service, and the crab rangoons actually have crab (granted probably imitation, but still!)The bad: unsure of the quality (or type) of meat in the sesame chicken - different style than any sesame chicken I’ve had before (fried balls) and two bites tasted of barn animal. It also came in what I’d call a sweet and sour sauce. Otherwise, it was actually pretty good. I ate it all.
We been to this place after 4 years, last time we were just passing by now we are locals ?. Food was amazing for the price with good portion. We ordered kids meal chicken wings with shrimp lo mein , for us Szechuan pork and Hunan chicken. We had California sushi for appetiser. We enjoyed our dinner with delicious food, definitely coming back to try more variety ?
Fantastic food selection that brings me back to a spot I used to love in NYC back in the 90s. If you're on a date or simply trying to have a nice evening with your significant other, try the sushi boat. Although the menu has your typical americanized Chinese food options, the freshness and quality of the items are what set this location apart from others. Worth every penny.
We ordered 3 rolls of sushi plus two meals. I was told it would be 20 to 30 minutes. The hot food got cold since it was done after twenty, and I waited an hour for sushi. They apologized for the delay, but I wouldn’t suggest mixing sushi with other orders. The sushi was subpar, but the hot Chinese was great! The fried rice and egg foo young were excellent.
No stars if there was that option. ROTTEN beef in the fried rice, putrid. Sick to our stomachs, truly unethical. Could not eat anything else after we realized. Obviously NEVER going back.
An unassuming Chinese restaurant in a strip mall. But with the absolutely BEST Singapore noodles I've ever had. Seriously, this place made me one of the best meals of my life. For those of you who are wondering, these are thin noodles stir fried with curry, shrimp, roast pork, egg, and veggies and tossed with a spicy red pepper. Sometimes there's pineapple mixed in too (I recommend it)I also had the wonton egg drop soup, and it was incredibly delicious: they put a little bacon or something in the broth, and it adds a nice savory depth to the soup.
Food was delicious. Tasted fresh and the portion size made our meals an exceptional value. The staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant offered dine-in seating.I had Hot & Sour Soup and General Tso’s Chicken as my entree. My wife had Chicken Egg Foo Yung and an Eggroll. The soup was exceptional. The General Tso’s Chicken was excellent, a little sweet and not overly-spicy. The Egg Foo Yung May have been the best I’ve had (I tasted a bite or 2 of my wife’s). The gravy was over-the-top good with a strong peanut/peanut butter presence. I’m guessing here on the peanuts. I’ve never had it taste that way anywhere else but I don’t want it any other way now. This place has ruined all other Egg Foo Yung for me (and that’s not a bad thing). I had a few spoonfuls of the gravy by itself as dessert...don’t judge.Eggroll was nice, crispy and not at all soggy.10/10
We have been going here for years and order every few months. The last few visits have not been anywhere close to as good as in the past. Flavors are bland, egg rolls look and taste like they came from Costco - it's like food from the mall. I am so sad as there is no other good Chinese nearby. If things don't turn around soon we will not be back.
I was really surprised to find all these negative reviews. Peking Tokyo has been my go-to for local Chinese/Japanese food for years. Their lo mein is still super tasty. Not greasy at all and comes in a huge portion. But my absolute favorite and what will keep me coming back is the white tuna sashimi. The staff has always been perfectly friendly and attentive. New management or not, this place has yet to disappoint me.
