The food was phenomenal & the service was even better. I haven’t felt more at home in a restaurant in a very long time & I really appreciate this. Thank you!
Disclaimer—if a place is called “Mr. Pollo - Gourmet Chicken”, u should probably order chicken & we did not. Here’s the pros & cons from our 1st & only visit:PROS:immaculately clean, friendly service, food LOOKED awesome, chorizo was tasty, dipping sauce was really good, chicken wrap was tastyCONS:Colombian Platter (pictured)—steak was not well seasoned/flavorless & overdone but not burnt (unless u like well done) & since it was a lean cut it made it tough, Chicharon (fried pork belly) was also over done & flavorless/not well seasoned.Empanadas (small corn meal crust style)—meat inside was mush, no flavor, would not have known it was beef if not told so before I ordered.Bottom Line: Might try it again if someone told me “Hey, I had this item. It was awesome, try that.”
Decent food but absolutely awful customer service. I ordered from the current version of their menu on their website. My order was for a single plate and, upon arriving, they upcharged me $40 for a family serving and claimed they no longer offer the single serving. I then asked for a refund explaining this wasn’t my fault as I was only ordering from the menu on the website. The staff simply argued with me and refused to own up to their mistake/refund my money. Buyer, beware of ordering from the menu on mrpollogrill.com. This menu is outdated and it’s very possible they will bait and switch you. I’m extremely disappointed in how this establishment handled their own mistake. Instead of honoring the current menu (as any business should) on their website, they refused to take any responsibility and refund my money. I will not be going back.
What happened to the original staff and chefs!!They were absolutely FANTASTIC!!I went there last night at 7:15p; Literally felt like my business was an inconvenience. Okay they close at 8p. I completely understand I was cutting it close. The food was terrible! Yucca, Chorizo Sausage was over cooked! Plantain was especially hard! Completely not what we are accustomed to.If anyone knows where the old staff has setup shop please post.
Family recommended this place for takeout. I was pleasantly surprised when we got home and dug in! The fried yuca didn't last long, devoured in seconds. I was vulturing off of everyones plates for extra anything. "You gonna eat that?" Haha
Definitely not the experience we are use to. We have been coming for over a year. No sweet tea for 30 minutes. Had to ask after 35 minutes for the Empanadas. Had a hard time communicating.
Food was good. But honestly the women who checked me out was extremely rude to an elderly gentleman in front of me. It was just unnecessary.
We bought a coupon book from our child’s school to try new places. We picked this one for lunch, but they wouldn’t accept the coupon. Dinner only. Nowhere on the coupon did it state that. I gave it to another diner, the only other table in there. I hope he can put it to use since we won’t be back with even the manager saying “no” on the phone.
Get your employees to work! Talking to customers is great, but when you have a line and you’re spending five minutes talking about a trip to Miami, it can wait.
We ordered from them on Sunday and had absolutely no issue in getting the meal delivered. We tried to order again on Wednesday and they said it was too far away.
