This happened in the mid to late 80's. My family were going on a summer vacation and we stopped at the Thunderbird to grab something to eat. The food was wonderful and it was that old southern cooking. We hit that buffet hard. While we were eating the table next to us had a little girl who was tearing up her food, but all of a sudden she started yelling it's Mister. We looked up and it was the movie star Danny Glover. He was so nice he came by everybody's table and said hello and shook hands. He didn't have a large group of people with him, he was solo... That is my story of dining at the Thunderbird Country Buffet...
Pretty good food, but no butter beans, which is the reason I went!

If I could give ZERO, that would be my choice. This has to be the filthiest restaurant I have been to.How is this place still opened? (If anyone from the Health Inspectors Office is reading this review, please schedule an inspection ASAP).The food is watered down, comes straight from can to serving line, food temperatures (There were none), cleanliness EXTREMELY questionable (plates dirty) although gloves are used customers are still reaching over food (recommendation make dual sided bar).The website pictures are OLD and need to be updated. (The floors/restaurant need updating/restroom(s) need to be cleaned.)Thunderbird should pay people to eat there.The one star is given for customer service.
Expected to taste home cooked food, However everything tasted like it came out of a can ,regardless if it did or not that's how it all tasted. An area of tables was chained off and the only area left to sit at were dirty tables that had not been cleaned off yet. I witnessed a young man step over that chain to sit at a clean table and was reprimanded by the staff for doing so.He kindly told her if there had been a clean table he would have sat at one.
The food was good hot fresh. I see it's best to go in the morning when it starts with lunch and the buffet begins to open everything was clean and organized my only problem was I pay $15 and it was limited choices.
Good old sole good!! My wife insisted we go here to eat and boy was I fulfilled when I left
Loved the way the service was so nice and attentive to our needs and the food was great! The salad bar was fresh and price was very fair! Its a must go check out! And one of the best things about it from the outside you would believe that such great cooking was happening on the inside! Awesome
