Employees were real cool but lost lol. I ordered 1/4 lb shrimp and fries. And waited 35 mins before i told them how long i have been waiting. They said we got you coming. 15 mins goes by the cashier says did we get the shrimp? The cook hollers do we have shrimp down? The answer to that was no. Shrimp still hasnt been dropped yet so after 55 mins of waiting i get my food. Get back to my truck and they forgot my fries ?
I stopped in and ordered the three piece spicy chicken combo with biscuit and Cole slaw with a drink. The chicken was very tasty but not hot spicy. Excellent meal but slow service in a not busy restaurant.
My food was hot, fresh and really tasty. The staff was extremely proficient and friendly. Kudos to the manager. Lots of times when you walk in and see teenagers working there is a lot of playing going on. These teenagers were professionals. I even saw a young lady find and place a wet floor sign after she clocked out and was on the way out of the door. Talk about actively caring. I was extremely impressed with the whole operation today.
The service was horrible... No chicken sandwiches, no shrimp. When I got my sweet tea it was unsweet... Get it together!

When I went in to order my food which were some chicken nuggets, the cashier stated that they didn't have any. There was no wait time on the nuggets because there were none at all. In addition to not having any nuggets, they were also out of tenders and chicken sandwiches. The cashier said they only had mild chicken and red beans and rice, french fries, so I ordered some french fries. When I got to the car I tried my fries and they tasted old. I then proceeded to go back in and ask for refund which the cashier was not familiar with. She asked me if I could wait for a few minutes so they could get in touch with a manager to walk her through the steps of a refund. I say 5-10 min later, they still couldn't reach the manager so I just politely told the cashier that it was ok. Needless to say I walked away with no fries and no refund.
Off and on over the years we've eaten here often enough I can't believe I haven't reviewed it. I remember when we just hoped to get a Popeye's in the Florence area. I remember telling Corporate we miss it here. We had moved here some time ago (20+ years); and discovered Popeye's near New Orleans. Great crispy chicken spiced only the way a place from the deep south can do it. For those who don't like it spicy you can get a no heat 'regular' version; which is just as popular, especially in SC. The Red Beans and Rice can't be beat. Only my own Red Beans is better! ;-) Well, almost. lol I don't get Chicken from any other Chicken place! You know who I mean! Haven't been to that place in years and years now!
Was rather dismayed when we walked in. We were informed they were closing because they only had four kitchen staff. It was at 8 pm at a Travel America truck stop in Florence SC. On A Monday night and I literally had just watched two gentlemen walk out with big bags of take out. Didnt get to buy a thing.
This location was very slow. Most of The staff was professional and friendly. The food was prepared very well. If you are in a rush you're going to be a bit disappointed. But if you have time to kill you'll be fine. I ordered the chicken sandwich and I was very happy with my order. The sandwich made fresh. Definitely will be back
Service is soooooo bad and mean. The front lady were refuse to service me by saying:”not you” and used her finger pointed at me. probably because I’m Asian and she is black. I cannot believe the cashier are discriminated customer like that. You’re should be blame yourself as you how to treat your customer and fired from Popeyes.
