Food was not good to me at all. Mostly everything was canned food and the meats were so bland. I’m surprise being in the south I would of thought the food would of been great! But not at all first and last time there. The server was great though!!! If you are hungry or not avoid this place at all cost. ?? it was a waste of money.
We were driving through SC and looking for a place to eat and came across Lizard’s Thicket and thought it sounded like a good place to try. We are always looking for unique places to eat while on vacation. This place has good country cooking. I would definitely eat here again if we were ever passing through. I will tell ya that if you are looking at the dressing, that it’s more like stuffing, not like mamas dressing in Alabama ?. Other than that everything was yummy. Lima beans were the best I’ve ever had.
Country vittles. If your a fan of unhealthy food. This place is great. They do have baked options, but. Let's get real. Who likes baked chicken. When you can have the golden brown succulent deliciousness.
Our family of 11 enjoyed food at this restaurant at about 5 pm on a Friday. We were about the only ones in the restaurant , which made us initially nervous . The waitress , Harper, was friendly, attentive and got the large party orders correct . The salad I got was mostly lettuce and probably would not get again. The corn bread would of tasted better if it was warm/ hot out of the oven , instead of cold. The chicken / waffles ; fried chicken , chicken tenders , fried fish were all good tasting . Not too far off from I95 . Will definitely return !
Today, my daughter I came to this restaurant for the first time. Not sure why it took 7 years but the experience was well worth the wait. Cynthia was a 5-star server. Her skills and timing were impeccable. Cynthia was very charming as well. I look forward to my next visit. The food was very Southern and freshly prepared. The grilled pound cake is to die for. Don't forget a scoop of Vanilla ice cream. The sawmill gravy on the chicken fried steak was much better than that of Cracker Barrel. Portions were just right not scrimped but not too much. Also like the Alabama slaw. Great food.
My first experience. I got porkchop plate with okra squash casserole and cabbage. Everything was cooked perfectly. The flavor was there, the textures were right. The squash casserole stole the show for me...so good! I'd for sure recommend!
This time here was not the best. Infact it was horrible! Our food was cold, it was a long time in-between order and food's arrival. We had to call our waitress and ask for extra napkins, refills, bread, warm bread. She was not attentive to our needs. She was not friendly to us at all. We came back to the place because of our previous experiences, we will not return!!! HORRIBLE
LOVE this place! Janae was and awesome waitress(tipped her extra) and when they say good old fashioned Southerners Cooking....that what it IS!! Scuse me getting ready to get my Chicken and Waffles on!!
The food was delicious and the service were excellent
Good local restaurant with a decent menu. They don't specialize in anything in particular, just good food like fried pork chops, chicken, southern comfort type food.
