Excellent food. Clean and very friendly staff. Tried chicken and waffles and the pot roast. Both def pics.

Hole in the wall restaurant with excellent food and worth the wait. It was almost full when we arrived. One customer suggested the fried pork chop sandwich (the Mayberry) as he was leaving. My husband ordered it as well as the sautéed cabbage as his side. He declared the cabbage the best he's ever eaten, just like his momma used to make. He would leave off the chili (off the sandwich) next time. I had the fried green tomato BLT with sweet potato (waffle) fries. Excellent food and friendly service. We will be back!

Stopped here on a road trip for lunch. Excellent menu, reasonable prices, friendly service! Food was wonderful, portions were decent.

Having recently moved to Florence, I have been trying many of the top rated restaurants here. I read good things about the restaurant. However, the menu was rather limited. Taste wise, the chicken was just average. If you are close by, it is a solid lunch but not an out of the way destination.

After a long day driving 95, We got off the road at Darlington, settled in hotel, at 8:30 needed to find a place to eat. Found this on trip advisor, was close to hotel.. perfect location , we didn’t need to get back on main highway, technicality,we could have walked.. didn’t expect much at 8:30 and they closed at 9. We ordered the pot roast dinner for under $12. It was delicious. Hot fresh, juicy, With large portion of mash potatoes and gravy.i got French fries and gravy.,and home made biscuit.being elderly, not big eaters,we shared the plate, was perfect portion. Staff was friendly, Place was clean. It’s right off the exit. This is our new “go to place” when traveling through on 95.

The price of the food does not match the tiny amount of food you get. The bowl they brought of the squash should have been triple the amount. The little white bowl they brought looked empty with just enough satued squash to fill a medicne cup. My husband had the cat fish. One little piece of catfish. Never before. He always get 2 or 3 pieces. My 2 piece chicken was very small and Mac and cheese was bland. Slaw was good.

Was recommended Julia Belle’s restaurant from the hotel that we were staying at and it made sense being only a couple of minutes walk. So hopes were very high, get to try ‘southern’ cooking, was recommended and had a lot of good reviews. So ordered the southern fried chicken with mash and gravy and sautéed cabbage. Wife ordered fried shrimp, slaw, fries and fried okra. Friends ordered the southern fried chicken, slaw and fries and roast pot, Mac n cheese and sweet pot fries. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. Our friends had their order delivered and she proceeded to each her southern fried chicken with her knife and fork, luckily. The inside of the first chicken drumstick was completely raw. My friend, horrified took her plate of food back and was reassured a new plate of food would be cooked and another wait. Disappointingly the food was also luke warm and not hot. Our food arrived and I immediately cut my chicken to double check. It was cooked but again only luke warm. Also the southern fried chicken coating that I had heard about tasted of nothing. I assume that our server heard our discussions and came to check. After hearing about the no taste chicken she offered to bring some more southern fried chicken. When this arrived, test cut to check that it was cooked and horrifically the inside was again uncooked. I immediately went to the counter and told our server, who offered to replace it again. I did take her up on her offer and waited another 5 mins. When this round of chicken was delivered it was cremated and very dry. She was obviously watching us at this and came around to apologise for the fact the multiple chicken attempts in uncooked chicken and offered us cakes or anything else on the house and also offered to refund the cost of the meal. We had all decided by than that we had to leave without eating anything else there by that stage. So finally two chicken meals were refunded. So the three stars are more for the way our server attempted to resolve the uncooked chicken multiple times. We could not understand how TripAdvisor and Google reviewers rated Julia Belle’s so highly! We found the food generally had no taste, was served luke warm and could have proved disastrous if we had consumed the uncooked chicken. If you go, please check that your ‘southern fried chicken’ is cooked.

Very happy with our dinner here with family on our way to Florida. The staff was friendly and attentive. There was a constant flow of customers coming in while we ate. Lots of locals. We tried half the menu between all of us. Fried green tomatoes and beef bbq egg rolls for appetizers, fried shrimp, chicken tenders, burger, crab cake and chef salad were all delicious! Would totally recommend this restaurant

The food was great and the service friendly. I had the crab cake sandwich and the fried green tomatoes. The Mac & cheese was tasty too. It was a quick and easy meal. I highly recommend a stop.

Loved my grilled chicken wrap, so flavorful and full of fresh ingredients. Sauce was amazing, and my husband can't stop talking about his cheeseburger. Fries were great. Everything is fresh and full of flavor, prices reasonable. Very satisfied!
