My wife and I split a pint container of brisket with two sides. It was good, but I felt it needed the sauce that was available. The sweet potato soufflé was crazy sweet, still coming down from the sugar high
I would come back. We had the brisket tacos and the brisket sandwich with their fries. We would most definitely come back for the tacos; they were full of flavor. Their BBQ sauce is vinegar-based; you add your own. The coleslaw is vinegar based as well; very tart. If you like vinegar-based food, this place is for you.I wasn’t too crazy about the fries though. I am particular about my fries and these were over-done and bit soggy. I think the tots might be the better choice.Ultimately, I judge based on the mac’n’cheese. It was gooooood! It was full of flavor and very cheesy. I would definitely come back for the tacos and mac’n’cheese.
The service is good but this was way too expensive for boiled meat. Not sure if the owners intended or know that’s what’s going on in Florence, but it’s not good. The ribs were most definitely boiled and tasted like those meatballs someone always brings to a potluck.
I work at mccall farms and they have a food truck there to serve food for the employees u pay 8 bucks for 3 tenders and a hand full of frys total rip off, I've called several times an the put me on hold for hours so I hang up an call again an I get the busy signal this place has some sorry food with some sorry deals do us a favor an jus leave so someone else can have the opportunity to serve us well
Place wasn’t terrible, but for a 4.4 rating I was expecting more. The brisket had a perfect cook, but there was no flavor to us. The Dino nuggets were very good and can’t complain. The tater tot bowls were decent and not terrible but definitely not a 4.4 rating in our opinion.
A good friend recommended the place. Said the sauces were the star. I half way agree. So r great smoked meats and well executed sides. And as the tradition holds in PeeDee area of the state sauce is king! Several great sauces including a vinegar based that was great n I normally hate vinegar based sauces. A great food experience!
What an experience.. I usually don’t rant but I have to share this with you guys. I ordered pickup from Holts BBQ and they got two of the burgers wrong on my order. We picked up around 8:30pm and when we got we home we noticed that both burgers were not what we ordered. So I call and I speak to someone and they tell me there is nothing they can do because it just hit closing time. She recommended that I bring the burgers back tomorrow to see what the manager could offer. I asked to receive a call back from the manager/owner and they haven’t made contact. As a small business.. this is shameful. Truly. Not to mention the food we received was old… sat out and thrown together. I just wanted to forewarn you guys of the quality of service and food provided.
I used to rave about this place. The food was amazing and the service was second to none around here. Tonight I ordered delivery for my family and I don’t know what happened to this place but I wouldn’t give this food to my worst enemy! The macaroni and cheese tasted like it was made with cheez whiz and no seasoning, the collards had no seasoning at all and several blobs of fat (not the good kind either), the green beans were also disgusting. The pulled pork was even bad and I didn’t know you could mess up pulled pork. I’m not one to waste food but we threw this food in the trash. $80.00 down the drain. Consider this post a public service announcement, save your time, money, and tastebuds and go somewhere else!
It was okay overall. The staff were friendly and the food okay. The burgers were actually amazing. The barbecue was pretty average and the sides weren't anything to write home about, but not a bad little place to grab a bite to eat.
Went to Holts while passing through Florence. I ordered the Grace and Willie tot bowl with a side of hush puppies, a sweet tea, Nana pudding and cheesecake. The food and service were great. I will most definitely be back.
