Passed many times on the way to the beach but never stopped. Finally did and now will be every time we pass no matter if we are hungry or not. Pulled pork was good but the brisket was amazing! Didn't do any sides so can't rate those but bbq gets 2 thumbs up!
On the way to Myrtle Beach we always pass this place. Sometimes the aroma can be smelled way before you get to the business which to me is a good thing and the big bbq smoke balloon tells a story of, oh yeah someone knows what they are doing in the air. This was our first time coming from the beach and we said today is the day because the smell was so inviting. The guy who took our order wasn’t welcoming even when we said we been passing by for year and wanted to try it for the first time. I’m used to conversation over food. He didn’t part his mouth. He took the order and it didn’t take long. We tried to eat it at the table but the flies ran us to the car. Two straws were requested because we got two cups of ice. The young guy went next door and came back with two straws that had no wrapping just two single straws ( not sanitary at all) and handed them to my friend. Usually people behind the counter would say, sure hold on let me go next door. He didn’t part his mouth. I asked for a small cup of extra bbq sauce ( because I saw little cups at the window) he told us, its on what we ordered. I guess assuming what was on the food was good enough but I like extra sauce. In short a message to the owner I enjoyed the food. We both said it was good but the friendly customer service just wasn’t there. It was around 11:40 am. I thought since it was still early I would see and hear more energy from the worker. I always tell my children when you work in the public eye be nice and inviting because you never know who you are talking too. A friendly conversation can go a long way. An upbeat environment feels more appealing than one that is not. Probably want go back because of that even though the food was good. We got a pulled pork sandwich, wings and two sausage dogs with peppers and onions. I thought the dryness came about because we were black but I witnessed it with the white customers also.
Excellent bbq! Passed by a number of times and finally decided to give it a try. Sliced beef and ribs were spot on.We had made the trip out to Scott’s BBQ in Hemingway for supposedly the best in SC and thought it was lousy. This is by far better!
If you are on your way to, or coming home from Myrtle Beach SC. Want some great BBQ. Put this on your list!!
The food was amazing. We ate it 2 fast to take any pictures! ??
Taking a different way to the beach and ran across this place. I had seen his sauces in stores and seen him on tv but didn't know where he was located. When you first get out of the car, it smells great, just like you want a bbq place to smell! I noticed later under their sign by the road there is a small wood fire burning, I watched one of the workers go out there and put another log on the fire. Why? There isnt anything cooking out there at the road. I am not sure they are cooking with wood because there is a big propane tank out back.I ordered the bbq sandwich with slaw for $7.00. I was okay with that but what you get doesnt match the price. My first thought was my sandwich has a weird smell I cant place. Upon biting into it, it seems like it tastes like propane, but whatever it is it is a bery heavy snoke, and this was before I left and noticed the big tank out back. I initially thought I had a beef sandwich because of the color, never had bbq that brown before and I have been eating bbq for many decades. I dont know if its the meat, the sauce, the slaw or a combo of all three but I could not stand the smell and taste of it. 10 minutes after leaving I was burping slaw and 8 hours later, I still am. It seems like the slaw, could be that weird ingredient I couldnt place. I dont know but I do know it will not be a new stop on the way to the beach for me.You walk up and order from the food truck, couple tables outside or you can go in this old building that I wasnt even sure was theirs and eat inside or I guess you can cause thats what I did. But fyi, wait to go potty somewhere else.I hate that I won't be back too cause they have both a "doggy bathroom" and a "chicken atm". Lol
The Mr and I stopped by after seeing the reviews. Some of them seemed disappointed, but we weren't. The brisket was fatty but not discouraging to the taste buds, and the flavor was great! It went dry at all and, truthfully, didn't need the sauce it came with. We also got their pizza, and the flavor bomb was so good that we ordered another! The sauce was sweet & had strong hints of oregano/basil. The only item we weren't fond of was the slaw. It was fresh and light but heavy on the mayo. That being said, nothing will stop me from diving face-first into that brisket again. Do yourself a flavor and make the trip.

4 Time Pitmaster of the Year, NC.2 Time Whole Hog State Champion NC.NCPC Certified Judge.Memphis World Champion BBQ Judge. So I’m Pretty good at Judging Bbq.Been driving past this location for so many years finally got by when it was open. Ordered Just the Brisket.OH THE BRISKET!!!! Paper Thin Slices, who Slices Brisket so Thin ???? Those That Can’t Cook a Tender Brisket. Appears they don’t trim any Fat, as the first Container was 70% Fat. I Purchased 3lbs. Definitely a Hugh Disappointment!!!! Drenched in sauce which also terrible. Don’t waste your time or money. I definitely won’t return.
After a long day on the road this was just what we needed, we got beef, pork, and chicken baskets and they were all delicious. The coleslaw was also some of the best I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend!
