Food is always good! Low key, relaxed atmosphere. Small and cozy. Don't expect anything fancy. Just friendly staff and homemade cooking. Byob and cash. Overhead is low but so are the prices!

I would give this more stars if they were available. Go to this place every year when we go to Myrtle Beach. Food is always excellent and waitress is great.

Great food, great service. You get your money's worth. Not fast but cooked to order and fresh. have eaten there several times not a bad thing on the menu.

We had heard about this eatery and were eager to finally be able to go. It is rather in an out of the way location and could have been easily missed if not for their sign. The building looks like a little home, the inside is one large room with some tables and chairs ... maybe less than 10. If you're looking for ambiance this is not the place to go.They are BYOB and offer mainly seafood but do offer some non-fishy items, eg. burgers, ribs. It appears that most of the seafood is fried but certain items can be broiled for a small up-charge. A complimentary basket of hushpuppies are brought upon being seated.I ordered shrimp (one of the few types of seafood I'll eat) in a cream sauce with white rice and side salad; my fiancé had a seafood platter that came with 2 sides. Even though my preference is beef, I thoroughly enjoyed my shrimp dinner. I thought the shrimp was slightly over done but it did not detract from the flavor and the portion was generous. My fiancé s dinner was very generous. The seafood was comprised of flounder, shrimp, scallops, & oysters. All were tender, sweet, and deep fried to perfection. Their coating was just right, giving a light crisp and delicate flavor without overpowering the flavor of the seafood. He was insistent that I try some of the items on his plate especially since I'm really not a 'fish' person and he wants to broaden my palette. He's tried unsuccessfully in the past to have me eat oysters; something I swore to never eat again since I was 10. After finally caving to his urging, I was absolutely surprised how delicious it was! It was so good that I snagged another off his plate.Luvans is a place for great fried seafood at a good value. I know we will be back again.

Food was so freaking good!!! Enjoyed fried oysters and hush puppies.

Have been eating here for years and is always a stop when we are in Myrtle Beach. Food is very good from hush puppies to entrees.

First off if you are looking for a big fancy restaurant this is not it. As a matter of fact if you don't know to look for it you would drive right by. Went inside and saw a sign reservations needed but they took our party of four in as there were only a couple of people inside. BYOB is the plan here. Expect a long wait for your food as everything is cooked to order and when i say long if you are impatient then don't bother coming here. There is a choice on most items for large or small plates. If you order large better come hungry as the small is plenty for most people. We ordered oyster cocktails which were very tasty and the hushpuppies that came with it were huge. Most of us had the large seafood platter which was excellent and a big box went home with us. When we left we took four slices of Homemade Coconut cream pie with us to eat when we got home and it was fantastic as well as large slices. Most food is fried but you can order broiled if you like. Will definitely be back with friends again for this down home food experience. One last thing the prices were very reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get.

Great food as always. No credit card accepted and reservations needed. Regular whole catfish dinner is 4 whole fish. You won't leave hungry

Really amazing food and insanely large portions and reasonable prices. Don't get the large size portions unless you're able to eat enough food for 3 people! The small size is still enough for 2! Then there's the All you can eat! ? The oyster stew, hush puppies, seafood, fish, chicken, salad & coleslaw are absolutely fresh and delicious! It's tiny, make a reservation. No alcohol and be prepared for it to take a while for your food to come; the wait is worth it!

Read reviews before going here. Truly feels like the old south. They do offer something uniquely special here. I ate the home style food aside from the need for a deep clean (fried oysters, hush puppies, fried potatoes, cole slaw).Dirty bathrooms always make me wonder about the rest. Granted I am a germ phobe and have been Serve Safe Certified in the past.If you go - enjoy!!
