ALWAYS have gotten wonderful service. Food is ALWAYS really good. Their ceased salad is one of a kind. The wait time is usually not long at all. I love to do date night with my husband here.
Charming atmosphere inside, but food was just mediocre. Had not visited in over 5 years, but not much improvement in all this time. Lots of pasta, not much flavor.
Nice place. The Brussels app was the the star of our visit unfortunately. Our main entres were the braised short rib and the Scallops. Both were average. After eating here, there is no urge to come back, more of a want to find a better authentic Italian restaurant.
This was our first time dining at this restaurant on May 19. We were welcomed in, which was the only plus. The bread came out hard as if it was cooked earlier and then microwaved, which we had to request new and the second order came out much better. The main course we ordered was sausage and peppers rustica and mussels pernod . The food came to the table looking great expect the mussels. The shells were shattered to little pieces and we were digging out slivers of shells from the pasta, worried if we were gonna accidentally swallow them. We requested a new plate as we should. The server brought it to the managers attention and he comes to our table. Without apologizing for the inconvenience he goes on to say “you have to understand mussels can be flaky” his exact words. My mother and I look at each other stunned as to why he thought that was the best description for what happened. They cook up another dish separating the pasta from the mussels and the mussels came out better and NOT FLAKY as he would call it. The icing on the cake was when they brought out the vacuum while the restaurant was open. Those who work in a restaurant know it’s not the electric vacuum but the commercial restaurant vacuum that is to be used before or after hours. I wish I had more compliments to give but I don’t. Sad to say. They took the dish that had all of the broken shells on but this was all we had to show that we weren’t making it up.
We drive over an hour each way because it's the Best Italian! If you go on Friday or Sunday you have to ask to sit in Brian's section you will be grateful bc he's the best.
Our family of 6 made reservation here to celebrate a college graduation. We arrived a little late and called ahead, Brandy was able to adjust the time for us. We got seated promptly and server was quite good with our orders. Got a variety of drinks, good wine selections. Entrees included chicken Marsala, veal scaloppini style (not the most tender), salmon, prime ribs (excellent), and appetizer we got a charcuterie platter. Everyone was pleased. The server kind of disappeared for a bit, but the restaurant quite busy that night. The group shared tiramisu and cannolis for desserts. The tiramisu was a bit different from we’re used to get, cannolis were delicious. They said they make their own filling while purchase the shells from elsewhere. This was a very good dinner out.
Myself and a group of soldiers decided to visit this place today to celebrate my promotion to Master Sergeant. After waiting about 25 mins at the door to be seated Sara came out from the back and told my group that they will not be able to serve us today and walked off. I have never experienced this type of service from and so called up scale restaurant especially a group of soldiers in uniform. Will never step foot in there again.
The ONLY reason this review is showing one star is because I had to pick one. I felt discriminated today as a black woman in an army uniform. We called ahead to make sure our party could be seated and the rules were explained. We agreed to not being seated together, not an issue. We all stood there, watching others be seated BEFORE and AFTER us. We were told in simple words “we can’t serve you today because we are short staffed” after seeing others constantly being seated. We were all African Americans in uniform and everyone around us were being seated. We will make sure the word gets around because this was HORRIBLE service. And everyone reading this KNOWS exactly what was said.
One of the best experiences I had in a long time the staff was amazing attentive but not overbearing loved every moment, the food was very addictive I will be returning to try out more dishes
Service, food, and hospitality were so delicious that I had forgotten how delicious Travinia is. Our waiter, Bryan, thank you, you went above and beyond!!! Follow @laboricua75 on Instagram
